Hi there. I'm a shapeways customer and I've a question. I'm creating a diorama called "Landwasser viaduct" (see http://stefano.dalli.it/model/landwasser) in N scale (1:160). I have a problem to create a big rock mountain 1 meter height at that scale. I would to use the real Digital Elevation Model data provided by SwissTopo organized on a regular 2x2 meter grid. Scaling the grid at 1:160 scale the final regular grid will be an elevation point every 1.2 mm. OK. Now: how to print the grid or a subset/matrix of that grid (example 3x2 or 3x3 and so on) ? Regards Stefano
1/160 = 0.00625m 0.00625m x 2 = 1.25mm (about right) Change the scale or use simple math to extrapolate the correct size/scale Paul [hr]stop4stuff Modeller for hireShapeways Shop - Controller PendantTwitterYouTube[hr]
Paul, I made the scaling applying the factor 0.00625 for Z value and for X,Y values also offcourse. I imported the data into 3 field ofa database. Some update queries to make what above said. Then I change X with Z to obtain a rotated grid. Now I'm trying to export a STL file using GlobalMapper. See you later and thaks. Bye Stefano
