Cosmetic jar container

  1. Hi there,

I am super new to 3D printing so I want to make sure this is a viable option.

I am looking to create a circular lip balm container to house wax based ingredients. The MOQs to get this done in China through regular molds are very high. So I am looking at 3D printing. However I am not sure if any of the materials can be used for cosmetics. Does anyone know?

I have a sample of a lip balm jar...here is a link to a picture of it: http://madswanstyle.wordpress.com/tag/lip-balm/

But obviously looking to have my logo there instead! Does anyone know if this is even viable before I start trying to create this?

    Thank you!
    kind regards,
    Dawn

Unless you are just making it for a prototype.. none of the Shapeways materials are certified as foodsafe except for Ceramic.
At best, you could purchase the print items in plastic, and then use some kind of sealer, but that's going to require a good bit of labor in post-processing.
