    Hello

My name is Daniel, I am a junior design engineer and have been designing and printing my own works for over 250 hours now. I am a qualified Aerospace Engineer and have been using CAD since 2006.

I specialise in replica props, miniatures and multi-part assemblies for 3D prints. My largest so far is 53 parts to create poseable figurines and customisable props by swapping parts in and out using my locking mechanisms. I do not model organic shapes. Please contact me directly for a portfolio.

As I am a junior engineer my rates are very affordable, I enjoy modelling in my spare time.

If you need a part modeled for you but cant afford senior design rates, please let me see how I can help. Thanks.

  2. Hello Daniel,
Can you contact me about a small project I have sketches for, in need of a design modeler?

I'm trying to have 17 lilies made, which are to be translucent cream color and lit from LEDs on the inside.

I've attached the sketch. I'd love to attach a photo of the gate it goes on, but this program only allows one image per message.

    Kind regards,
    Robert Peterson

  3. Hello, I would love for you to make my design into a reality. It is not finished but the rest that isn't there should be fairly simple for you since it has to do with locks and spring locks. Not sure if i should tell you details about it now, so i am going to anyway. I am a novice at sketchup as you will see shortly, and would only like you to go off of my design there, not take and edit them as they are not put together well and only the basic parts of it have been done. If you are required to cover the blade within a square so it isn't mistaken for a real one, please do, but make sure there is a very thin connection so I am able to cut it loose from the blade. The sizing is also most likely messed up. I would like the bigger piece with the long cut running through both sides to be 7 1/4 inches and the other two to be just slightly shorter, or however you make it best. If you haven't looked at it yet, or do not know, it is from Assassins creed the game. If you have any variations you would like to add or change, please contact me. The only information I need right now is how much will it cost to hire you to turn this into a reality? Thank you very much, also go check out Ammnras profile, he made something similar to this, the Connor Replica, if you would like to take any ideas from this you can. or from his other creations.

    Hey there,

Its a coincidence but I actually worked on an assassins creed extendable blade only a few weeks ago from someone who wanted me to work with their design. However issues that I expected arose, you will need the exact dimension springs to be known (and ideally in your possession) before I start as these things are extremely tight fits and if the springs arent perfect, it wont work.

I might suggest trying one of the pre-made versions on thingiverse or other places since those guys have pretty much mastered the design. While I can and have designed many original functional pieces, I feel you would be paying me for something that already exists, and the ones out there are very good and re-engineered many times.

  5. Hey again, so new idea. Sorry to waste your time to read that whole thing I wrote, I have a better idea. It still does involve a similar mechanism, however it consists of 2 main parts instead of 3. I would like to change it so its is more like a spike with 3 faces and goes on the top of my arm. And instead of 7 1/4 inches, maybe something like 9 1/2? there would be 2 parts one of them would basically be an elongated triangle on my arm and the spike piece would fit inside with a spring along the inside with prongs on the very back of the spike that stick out the two top sides of the base so it won't shoot out the front. Also a unlocking mechanism would be cool, if i could press it on the top somewhere on the base triangle tube to release the spike. If you would like an illustration, I can draw one.

Also don't worry about the spring, just name the size length and, if possible, strength, and I can get it.

    Thanks!

    -Edit
I'm aware that there are many other designs out there, but none exactly how i want it...
Also just changing the design because i think a hidden blade might be a little too original.

    Hey there,

What youre describing sounds possible but quite complex. it would help a lot if you can provide a lot of sketches of what youre saying. they dont have to be sketchup files, i can work with things drawn in paint. Its just a little difficult for me to visualise what you are saying.

  7. Hey so I finished up the basic elements of it, and did use sketchup because it's easier to represent it in its actual form.

This is somewhat what i mean, the spike would be printed inside the base so it could slide without having to attach anything. The hole in the back of the base and inside the spike would be for paracord to loop through so it would be held back on its own with the paracord attached to something further up my arm. The spring would go around the paracord, inside the spike, and than attached to the back inside of the base. The bottom of the spike is off because if it isn't printed like so, i wouldn't be able to tie any cord through the hole. It would later be glued back on by me. This is pretty much everything that i want printed, i just need someone to touch it up, preferably starting from scratch because mine probably has a million errors. Also I like how the tip of the spike turned out, can you make something similar?

Do you kinda see what I'm getting at?

    Thanks!

I am unable to open either of the files above, but I wanted to extend you a word of caution.
From your descriptions above, it seems that you're designing some form of bladed weapon.
Weapons longer than 10cm are not permitted per the Shapeways Terms of Service:

Thats fair enough. I'm not sure if ill be able to go ahead with his design then since 10cm is around less than half of the ideal size.

  10. I'm aware of that, that's why i said earlier in my first post that if possible i wanted you to cover the tip in a square with a thin layer in between so i could cut it off and deal with it regarding my own state laws :/

also i worked on this for most of my day and will change anything to get it made, if you have to round the tip or even make it flat I'll do that, but a square over the tip would be preferred.

Please reconsider... I have put a lot of time into this

I'm not sure we would accept that, either. Sorry man, no weapons!
