3D Printing Text Quotes

  1. Hi all,

I've been curious in 3D printing for a long time but I'm new to the forum.

I wanted to know if there are any examples of text quotes being 3D printed?

I want to print sentences of various lengths. Some examples:

    "Get out of the building."
"The main goal is to learn, not to grow."
"When you don't know what you believe, everything becomes an argument. "

Next to them, in a smaller size probably, there would be the name of the person who said it.

Do you think it's a good idea to use 3D printing for something like this? How would you do it?

    Thanks for your advice :)

    Cesc.

It's a great idea that I don't think has been done yet.

  4. Thanks! I didn't know about it.

I was thinking on a way to print the sentence in a way it's easier to read.

One way could be printing the text so there is an element keeping all letters together (something like an underline, for example).

The other option I was thinking about was printing the text in "negative" (a solid piece where letters would be cut off).

Do this sound like a good idea?

Yep! Sounds great! I think both ideas would work.

Model something up and post it up so we can see what you came up with. :)

  6. Thanks! I will update the post if I finally go ahead with the idea :)

  9. You can either bring the stl files in Windows 3D Builder application and then you can emboss text on it or import in Tinkercad to add the text.
