Hi I am new to the whole 3d modelling and using 3Dtin created a part for a toy. I am unsure how to gauge the size of the product and am on a budget. If any one can help it would be great.

    the 3dtin model - http://www.3dtin.com/ymwe

p.s. when importing I selected millimeters. If this helps

    Download your file as STL.
    Get a copy of https://www.netfabb.com/basic.php
You can measure, repair, rotate and scale your file here.
Read the Design Rules for each material.
Shapeways does not usually allow multiple parts in a file except for earrings and a pair or set of something. You will have to join your parts together with 'sprues' or make a 'cage' around them.

That's only for Silver and Steal.
You can use multiple Parts to a file if the parts are big enough. Small small parts must sprued together, or they will go through the drain by the cleaning process ;)
To Check the cost and the automatic checks I sometimes upload a in between model. Than you can se if something is totally wrong and you can see in the price category.
