We use Pro/Engineer design software to produce your 3D printed design, but can design it is such a manner that it will be able to be injection molded in the future if that is your ultimate goal. We have been providing product design services for over 20 years, but we are new to Shapeways having only learned about them though the December 2012 edition of Mechanical Engineering Magazine (the official magazine of ASME).

I'm a design student and for my dissertation I would really appreciate replies to the quick questions below:
Do you see 3d printing communities as a threator an opportunity to your job as a professional ?
Is there a successful career in marketing your services to private individuals ?
Do you think consumers are becoming more aware of design principles through 3d printing ?
Finally, what do customers typically ask you to print ?

I am looking for someone to design customized exercise equipment for us. For example, dumbbells, resistance bands and yoga mats. Do you do this type of work?
