I am planning to produce several parts which are a bit of an experiment.
My question is if I order several parts and one fails to print does the order
get cancelled? Or will it be dispatched with just the parts that will print?

If all the separate parts are part of one print job. I.e. all the parts are intended to print at one time and one is too thin or non-manifod, the entire job gets canceled. If you place an order with all the parts as separate objects intending to be printed separately, then if one of them cannont be printed, only that one will be cancled and all the other will be printed.
