Hi,
I know shapeways doesn't offer the glazed ceramics in red (yet?), so does anyone have a good and fairly cheap way to re-colour white ceramic to a nice Ferrari red? I would need it to be heat resistant also, so I figured paint may be out?
A second question I had was; in anyone's experience is it possible to 'glue' 2 pieces of glazed ceramic together in some way?
The reason would be if I wanted to have 2 different colours (e.g. red and black) as you can't print multi colour ceramic.

From what I have heard, you can glaze over top of the original glaze. I don't know if this would work! but what about glazing or another finish on Sandstone?
As far as gluing them together, gluing the glazed surfaces most likely would be extremely difficult. The base of every model printed in ceramics is unglazed, so if you could get the joint area to be the unglazed surface, you could glue that together, or you'd have to carefully remove the glaze in the glue area. I haven't tested either, and I don't know if I'd attempt removing the glaze to glue myself (without test pieces of course).

Glue tends to not be heat resistant as well...
If you have a college near you, you could see if they have any pottery classes If they do then one of the students or teachers there may be able to help you finish out your project. Or their may be some professional potters in your town?
