So I want to get a gold plated Lego brick for a family member's birthday, and want to know that if I get it in Gold-Plated, will the plating cause the walls to grow so that the Lego can't snap? On other words, will the final result be accurate within 16 microns of the 3d-model?

Thanks yes my question is stupid but I don't know.

If you refer to the Stainless Guidelines the accuracy of stainless is +-2mm The gold plating (as far as I know) is only a few microns thick so it will add thickness, but not substantial.
