I've been trying out the ShapeJS tool and have experimented with adding colors to the 3D designs: http://leonnicholls.com/shapejs/

It looks like a promising way of creating very unique 3D designs with just a bit of programming knowledge.

I work here
Excellent idea to color the shapes.!
ShapeJS has no coloring capabilities and your approach solves that problem.

Can your tools use hi res textures for coloring or it is per vertex coloring?

Thanks. My tool doesn't support textures. The coloring is done per face at the moment.

I have open sourced my Hemesh Colorizer tool: https://github.com/entertailion/HemeshColorizer

The tool is written in Processing and requires various libraries that I describe on GitHub.
