A new batch of full color sandstone models arrived from Shapeways. I designed each of these in Blender. I am very impressed with the details and the colors.

This steampunk-styled elephant was inspired by the mechanical elephant at Nantes.

This colorful armchair was inspired by a post by design-dautore.com. It consists of 2284 small colorful cylinders.

The following models were inspired by Gil Bruvel's metal sculptures. The first version consists of 61 horizontal cylinders.

This version consists of 100 cylinders.

Very nice.

What method do you use for the colour of your models? Textures, separate meshes each with a Material or Vertex Paint?

Thanks. In Blender I assign either each separate object its own material color or I assign a face in the mesh a material color. I don't use textures. I've written on my blog about how I do these designs: http://leonnicholls.com/

you have great models, and the blog is also quite helpful.

Design in mind, while still learning to put it out onto the paper.
