I've seen a lot of products that instead of a 'buy' option, are replaced with a 'personalized' option, for engraving names and such. I'm curious how to set up one of my products in that way? Thanks Very Happy

I'm not completely sure myself since I haven't actually done it, but I think you get started by going to the edit mode for the model you want add customization to and then scroll down to the bottom of the page and select the Make this model a Co-Creator link.

Someone who has actually done it would probably have better instructions.

It always was. It always was because somethingness cannot spawn from nothingness. And in the was of the past there is the forever of the now. Only now. Only now and nothing new, for anything new would add to the infinite, yet there can only be one infinite. Only one. The universe is only becoming something new in the delusion of our minds. This delusion that makes life worth living in our perceived universe becoming.

You are correct James. We're going to set up a better refresher on Co-creators, but the short is. You can make any item you upload a co-creator. You set up to 3 different personalized variables. For example, if your item is a ring, one variable can be for the customer to pick a ring size. You also set the Max volume of your item. So ring example again, you want to use the largest size you make available so that when you create the customized item you don't go over the volume you specified (it will default to the volume of the model you uploaded). Once you publish your Co-Creator, you wait for someone to order. Once they order, you'll get an email about having a model to create. Follow the link and you will see the variables that the customer set, and then you design their item to their specifications.

Oh, and how does the pricing work? Is the customer charged the price only after I have submitted their personalized design so they pay for the exact volume? Because with the design I'm thinking about, the volume can differ quite a lot.

You specify in your setup how long you expect to take to submit a design.

The purchaser pays upfront. They are charged for the max volume that you entered, plus your markup. If your item ends up being less volume, neither you nor your customer gets the difference (no refund for unused volume, you get your markup only).

Just curious - What happens when the volume ends up a bit bigger than the designer stated ?

If the volume of the uploaded model exceeds the volume you specified, than it will be kicked back to you to redesign.
