| Model page bug: dimensions don't update when 3D file is updated [message #59850] Tue, 08 January 2013 20:47 UTC |

In this model, http://www.shapeways.com/model/858362/dizarf.html,
I mistakenly uploaded it in the wrong orientation. I updated the file to the correct orientation, but the dimensions shown on the page didn't update, and now they give a wrong impression of the size of the model.
Known bug? Anything I can do to make the dimensions refresh?

I'm going to double check this, but the bounding box dimensions listed are now the most dense possible bounding box instead of the uploaded orientations bounding box. I'll see if this is still the case.
I double checked, appears we are still displaying the oriented or most dense bounding box.

FWIW, in this case at least, I feel like that gives a misleadingly small impression of the size of the sculpture.
People want to know "how tall/long is this object", not "what is the side of the smallest cube whose diagonal can contain this object".

I agree, and it's being discussed.
