I am trying netfabb. It shows my model in mm as roughly 160 x 140 x 120.
But when I upload it (selecting mm), the model shows up as roughly 130 x 120 x 110.
Please help me to understand this.

Netfab shows a bounding box based on orientation. Shapeways uses a bounding box based on the minimum bounding box possible with the file. So say you have a piece of paper at an angle in Netfab would say the height was as high as you angled up the paper, but SW would say that the height was the actual thickness of the paper.
