New to Shapeways. What a great idea

I only wish they could accept Solidworks PRT or STEP files. Being on a MAC I cannot convert the files so can't use Shapeways at the moment. I am sure if Shapeways does not make this available, someone else will make that available

I work here
Solid works should export at least STL. Although I wouldn't mind STEP support myself. Also check out https://www.babel3d.com/ It used to be unlimited free, but I think it's down to 10 free translations.

Welcome
Get yourself a free copy of Freecad. It will work on Mac OS X (Lion 10.7) It reads a multitude of file formats. It exports to a host of files you can upload to Shapeways. You will find Netfabb invaluable, also free and available for Macs, where you can measure, check and repair your .stl files.
