Anyone know what kind of material is being used in cubify? Same plastics they use here? The reason I ask is because I saw a video where someone created a plastic shoe and it seems to support the weight of the girl....and it's not a solid piece it's meshed so. i was wondering if the materials are the same used in shapeways...

Shapeways does not offer ABS anymore (which it what the Cube printer uses) but WSF (Nylon) is even stronger (depending on geometry) and would allow similar feats.

Hi Skatersollie,

i don't think that the shoes shown in the Video are from the cube.

That's what they say: Print anything up to 5.5" x 5.5" x 5.5" http://cubify.com/cube/index.aspx
Not too big ...

And: the details are very fine, to me it looks like Lasersintering, and that would be strong enough (Strong & Flexible)

... an take a look here: http://cubify.com/#creations
Here, behind the yellow (not so detailed !) shoe, you see a iPhone-Cover. Now compare the size of this cover to the size of the shoe ...

My opinion ...

Markus
