|UV Curable Acrylic Plastic VS. DOT4 Brake fluid [message #47035] Sun, 15 April 2012 17:24 UTC
I'd like to print a hydraulic gyro for bike brake. It's a mechanism that allows to spin the bar without limits of brake hose.
This is how it looks like: http://www.bikemag.com/files/2010/08/jcm-cworx-slopestylebik es0014-600x399.jpg
The print must be very strict with smooth surface to avoid the leaks. I thaugh that acrylic plastic print will be perfect.
Most of bike brakes are going on typical DOT4 brake fluid that is caustic for some materials so I wonder that brake fluid can damage the print material.
Anybody have any idea what's happening when DOT meets acrylic plastic?
