Dear All

My name is Mike Hancox and I am a Mechanical Engineer with a First Class Honours Master of Engineering Degree in Mechanical engineering.

I am offering a service for mechanical design of product prototypes, devices, moulds, mechnanisms etc etc.

I am keen to build my portfolio of designs so I am offering my services at a very competitive rate.

I have 4 years experience working as an engineer in industry which builds upon my university training to give me over 8 years experience in engineering and engineering design.

Hi Mike,
Would you convert some AutoCAD LT 2011 2-D drawings into STL format? I would provide all necessary elevations and photos of the real items if necessary.
I make, as a hobby, model railways in 7mm scale (1/43.5) and want to get some small items made in Frosted Ultra Detail material. These are model springs and axleboxes.
What rates do you charge?
I am a Chartered Mechanical Engineer in manufacturing indusrty and just getting up to speed on rapid prototyping.

Hi Derek, I have never converted from that format before but I'm sure I will be able to do it. If you would send me the files and the description of the work I will make an assessment of how long I think it will take and I will provide you with a quote. If you are happy with the price I will get started as soon as you give merge go ahead.

I want some unique items on my 1930's model railway scene.
(4mm scale)

I am looking for real engineering CAD work, and not artistic representations that score by looking "right".

I am looking for scale modelling of real things that score by measuring-up as being "right".

I have several items but in particular for one, I have a single side elevation and lots of photographs. I also have dimensioned drawings of the general measurements to fit the gauge. I also have a series of aborted CAD stills.

I am looking for the models to be produced by Shapeways.

Hi Guys,

I have a couple of projects underway at the moment, but still plenty of time for many more projects so please get in touch if you have engineering design/cad modelling projects that you would like help with. My speciality is prototype product design where there is some engineering required. With my skills i wont simply model the dimensions you send me, I will work with you to develop a better engineered product.

I should also say I now have over 9 years experience as I have just passed another year anniversary.

Hey Everyone.

This was my first time hiring someone to design a 3D model, and Mike was more than happy to answer my questions.
He's very knowledgable, quick to respond to messages, and just an overall nice guy.
