I ordered a polished WSF piece on 17/05/11.

It is now 14/06/11, and the order has been listed as Accepted for weeks, but no further action. That's almost a month.

I emailed Christel, and she said it takes 18 days, is that 18 working days or 18 in total? There's no mad rush, but I would have thought there'd be some movement by now, or some notification. It's an experimental piece, and I was looking forward to see if it worked.

Any delays on polished WSF?

I've just had an update, it appears there were problems with the production. Looking forward to the finished product, to see how the new material copes.

Hi Bunrattypark,

I ordered a polished WSF piece on 02/06/2011. It got in production on 07/06/2011. I'm expecting it to take a month to produce. I did send an email to Shapeways, last time was yesterday, but there is no clear delivery date yet.

Since your order is older then mine can you keep this topic updated? I'd like to know when you'll receive your order.

I cannot wait for Shapeways to get there act straight. I'd love to order a lot more but I want to wait and see how my order turns out.

Grtz

Hi, order made on 17/05/11, delivered by UPS on 23/06/11.

It does appear that there was a problem with the first production, and the model had to be done a second time. Some of my 0.7mm thicknesses were slightly damaged by the abrasive polishing process. However, I am extremely pleased with the smooth finish, and it is more than worth thickening up a few vulnerable details for this new material.

I will be making my models generally available in polished WSF, however I would like to be able to give my customers a good delivery time estimate, as the stated 18 days seems to be too optimistic.

Good to hear that you finally received your order!

My order page says Expected delivery date: June, 28th. I haven't received it yet! I guess that was a bit too optimistic as well. Very Happy

Oh well, it's gonna arrive some day! I'm going to place my second order soon.

I have two orders for PWSF, one with expected delivery date 3/8/2011 and the other 11/8/2011. Both are still listed as "In Production". It seems there is some kind of delay or bottleneck ...

Yeah, I've got the same thing.
I was due to have an order delivered on the 3rd, but apparently something happened with it and a bunch of other prints that ruined them, so they've had to reprint the lot. I have two more orders scheduled for the 24th (also Polished) and 26th (plain WSF), so hopefully they're a bit more timely.

I'm guessing it's possibly getting up to date now. While the order due on the 3rd didn't get here till yesterday (the 24th), the one due yesterday turned up today, so only a day later than stated.

None of my orders have arrived. My Aug 3 order is now more than 3 weeks late ...

Hooray, all my PWSF orders have now arrived. My scheduled arrival August 3rd order arrived yesterday!

It was a long wait, but they were worth it. The parts look great! My orders are now being made in NY, which hopefully will mean much faster service in the future.
