|Sonnet Ring + Make your own message ring [message #30334] Thu, 07 July 2011 06:02 UTC
I made this ring for my wife, which is a huge fan of Shakespeare and ''Sonnet CXVI'' is her favorite. The first two verses are engraved on the external surface of the ring and a dedication is engraved on the inside. The text is placed around the ring in a helix pattern, so that it can be read by simply revolving it in one direction-clockwise.
You can get the Sonnet ring here.
The complete Sonnet CXVI:
Let me not to the marriage of true minds admit impediments. Love is not love, Which alters when it alteration finds, or bends with the remover to remove. Oh, no! it is an ever-fixed mark that looks on tempests.. and is never shaken. It is the star to every wandering bark whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken. Love is not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks within his bending sickle's compass come. Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks, but bears it out.. even to the edge of doom. If this be error and upon me proved, I never writ, nor no man ever loved.
William Shakespeare - Sonnet CXVI
First the pictures with the ring not shined, just as it arrived.
And after some polishing...
