I ordered nullnetworks' Skull Ring in WSF for my son (6½ years). I do wish I had something that cool when I was his age! As a physician I have high standards when it comes to body part replicas, and this did not disappoint me. I do not think I could have done it better myself. Price was good too.
Since I have been experimenting with designs of spinning tops, my son is beginning to worship "Beyblade" and I personally find tops cool, I decided to order the Inception movie top replica designed by Roessnakhan, this one in Alumide. Very nice top, spins well and looks good.
I downloaded the 500k faces model Omotondo from Aim@Shape, had to reduce it to 475k faces for Shapeways to accept it, and scaled this scanned wooden sculpture to a much too small size (16 mm) before ordering it in Alumide. It looks nice but the details and the overall impression of the sculpture is lost when it is this small.
I also ordered my own design Second Harmony of the Spheres which turned out to be a less than perfect design. The walls are too thin, it is not stable enough, and I will want more weight in the periphery to make it spin better. Holding it in my hand I also realize it could be smaller and still impressive.
Skull Ring on middle part of my little finger, does not go any further on me and looks sooo much better on Edvard.
