I'm a huge Halo fan, so I made these for myself and a bunch of my friends. These are my personal ones, and each of my friends sent me their data to personalize their own.

I'm MOST excited about how good the fine details came out in Stainless Steel, especially considering the advertised minimum detail is 1mm, and min thickness is 3mm.

These tags prove they can do SO much better! The smallest clearly raised step is only 0.010" tall (0.25mm), and the thinnest wall at the center of the tags is 0.032" (0.81mm). The tags overall thickness is only 0.090" (2.29mm), and the lettering-thickness is only 0.020" (0.51mm)!!

This gold ring also proves the detail possible, it has similar fine details (it's only 4mm wide), and also shows off the nice gold finish. I wish I could get it in SILVER though. Razz

Finally, I've received my custom-designed jet in non-messed-up form (the first two were damaged or unfinished), and it's AWESOME! The customer service guys were great too, they really want you to get what you paid for. Alumide has GREAT surface detail, and a really cool finish. I love it!

Love them all and thanks for showing off what all the metals can do at Shapeways. Helps when designing our own works.

Did they change the requirements for Stainless Steel (and silver for that matter)? Because all my dog-tags are no longer available in SS... What's up with that?!?

Yes, they did! A lot of my pendants were 2mm thick. Suddenly they weren't printable in s/s and I was told the minimum thickness was changed to 3mm - had to re-model and re-upload quite a few!
