Finally got my earring and the scorpion I've been inching 'submillimetering' towards printable with the thin legs.

First of the turtle earrings, something went wrong here, I guess with my first sale on Shapeways which were the turtle earrings and alchemy iron pendant (thank you! Smile ).
In the file the turtles are mirrored so there is a left and right earring, I got 2 'left' earrings, so I guess my first customer got 2 'right' earrings. And one hasn't got the same quality gold coating as the other earring and the scorpion.

A bit rough, but then they are very small, the eyes are still there if you look closely, the detail doesn't really show too well on the photographs.

I made them for my mom for mothersday and she's really happy with them so mission success!
(ps. I will make some pictures when I finish them with gold ear hooks)

The scorpion had some bad luck too, I've been re uploading it for a while, each time with a little more thickness in the legs until this time I did not get a fail message after checking or during production.
It's missing a leg though, it lacks gold coating on the break and there was no loose leg in the packaging so this must have happened after plating but before packaging.
I've put it on available to all now, unsure if I should just accept it or make a fuss, I did after all purposely inch this model along from unprintable to printable for a reason but as the print must have broken after finishing the gold plating process I'm not entirely sure it's my model that's to blame.

Ah well picture time (and nap time here Wink )

The actual 3d model has detail that goes quite a bit beyond what's going to be visible on pendant scale, I'm planning to do a larger version for a figurine in which they will show better. full colour perhaps Smile
Need to start practising those uvw unwraps anyway ^^

I'll see about doing some measurements again, the legs on the scorpion are amazingly thin yet feel quite strong
(which makes me wonder again how the leg broke off after getting all the way to post gold plated state before it happened.)
