Those are neat little items. Do you plan on putting them on some kinda base or stand, for table-top games?

That's my plan, yes
I've got a bunch more designs to water-tighten in between freelance jobs that I'm looking forward to printing.

You know, if you want to make a little money on those ships, without loosing any of the rights to them, you could always convert the models over for usage with any online game like There.com or IMVU. Those ships would look cool in either game, and earn you a few bucks. I do work on both of those games to pay my way in the world. I make enough money, I don't need to do anything else.

Awesome stuff! You should add tiny little stands and get them printed in metal.

I'd have to scale them waaaaaaaaaaay up to be printable in metal.

I dunno, they are about the size of my Crone pendant, and that printed. It wouldn't be too expensive to give it a try, maybe a few of them are stout enough to survive.

Very cool work. You must be running right up against the 1 mm wall thickness in many places. Care to share what you've learned in this regard?

Hasn't been much of a problem yet. I've found it works better if you have a thicker area in contact with the 1mm thick zone. The little pipes on the refinery ship are just a hair over 1mm thick, and they seem pretty strong to the touch.

Hey, another question about thickness. How thick are the side wings on your Dominators? They look around 1mm? Are the SWF wings as fragile as the black? Thanks!

Yeah, they're right around 1mm, maybe a bit less. The SWF is considerably stronger than the detail materials.

Those are all pretty cool. What game are these for?
Any plans to try the new alumide material?

I have no particular game in mind for most of them. The ground forces set are good for Dirtside and other 6mm sci-fi wargames. The spaceships are all more or less in "fleet scale", which is just shorthand for "smaller ships".
Alumide? Oh, definitely.

On the Zhukov, it looks like there are very fine 'ridges' along the planar surfaces. Are these an artifact of the SLI process, or are they simply a trick of the camera?

Those are from the SLI process, yes. You can barely see 'em in person, but my camera lives for details like that

New models!

The Alien Artifact - I designed this one specifically to push the can't-cast-me envelope a little further:

And two missile cruisers, one Belter and one USASF:

I swear, this is the best hobby ever!

These models are awesome, great work.
As someone who is currently trying to do the same sort of miniature creating with 3d printing, could you share any tips about the process? How important would you consider printing in fine detail vs White Strong and Flexible? Are the given values for minimum detail and wall thickness accurate in reality?

So far, yes
I generally go slightly over 1mm for walls/wings and the like. The minimum detail when I panel things up works much better at .15mm or .2mm than it does at the .1mm minimum.

Would you say models are good enough quality with the white strong and flexible material? Or are the lines/grains from 3d printing too prominent compared to a detail material?

Personally, I find you don't usually get too much in the way of printing lines in WSF; occasionally on gently curved surfaces, but nothing a light sanding can't deal with. As for the grain of the plastic, it's not too bad; once you've applied a coat or two of paint (which WSF takes really well) and a sealant, the texture's very subtle.

Those are standard wargaming flight stands; I imagine you could find them online somewhere.
The little Terran vehicles are from my own imagination
