Thank you Shapeways. I can't say enough good things about you guys. I know I pushed the design rules to the limit on this one and honestly I wasn't expecting the fur to be as crisp as the original but it is. Once again, you guys came through. Weight is 27.35 grams
Yeah I know. Been working on several projects at the same time. heh.. I gotta stop doing that. Anyways, this was printed in standard silver since the fur is pushing the design limits, I didn't do silver glossy. I would have taken more time on the patination but my niece wanted it as soon as she seen it. LOL... I made it for her for getting a 4.0 GPA...
Congrats! You've been Friday Found https://www.shapeways.com/blog/archives/1439-Friday-Finds-3D- Printed-Designs-From-the-Shapeways-Community.html
Yeah, I use Liver of Sulphur, the gel not the solid LOS. What do you use? Liver of Sulphur http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2 30651546187&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:US:1123 I will update the Cheshire pictures soon. I went and finished the teeth and other areas since she couldn't wait to take it home till I was done.
I use the solid but have wanted to try the gel! Another option which I still have yet to try is this: Take a couple of hard-boiled eggs, cut open and place in small airtight container along with your piece you wish to patinate. Over a few hours (days?) the sulpher from the eggs is supposed to do the trick! Much better for the environment, too Glenn
