Hey everyone, I've recently added my Rock Heart Pendants (in pink and red) to my etsy shop. Unfortunately I can't sell them on shapeways because they need to be hung from a chain, but also because they require some hand finishing (sanding, dyeing, assembling the two pieces together, etc). The idea came from a visit to the Gemological Institute in the San Diego area... they have a variety of fine cut gems but it was really the uncut pieces that interested me. They have some pieces that look like ordinary large rocks from the outside but when cut in half reveal these beautiful crystalline surfaces (geodes). I plan to do one or two other designs in this series but these are my first.
I saw this in person at the Los Angeles Shapeways Meetup, and it was really really cool looking. I am excited to see what other cool stuff you come up with! Lincoln
