We just released an improved thumbnail generation system. (thanks Robert)
The images we generate for the models you upload now show up a little larger, and with more contrast.
We hope you like it :)

As a second change today we changed our model upload mails transfer service to use Amazon SES.

Will you recalculate all of the thumbnails?

    Yes that's the plan.
And it will be quite a long task for our processing servers
    No date planned yet though.

    2011-04-08 update :

    This change

was backed out because Amazon-SES does not support email attachments.

There are still a lot of thumbnails with old size. Was this batch stop stopped or never done, or is that a mistake?

    Hi Woody,

The batch was changed to only recalculate the models for which we did not have surface area information, which was needed for the Ceramics material.
These calculations alone required 2 weeks

That means if we are interested to have a common look and feel, we have to do it per hand?

Are the servers clogged? it takes more than an hour for a model to show up.. (?)

    no... totally serious
Mesh Medic throws a wobbly if to many interlaced shells within one model are thrown at it... the total number of faces has something to do with it too. Mind you it didn't help with me logged in on .com & .in uploading similar stuff at the same time... I half thought SW might have mirror servers on the .in side but it looks like the uploaded files were forwarded to the .com servers creating more backlog

And I thought you were being serious when you said I crashed the servers... must try harder next time ;)

[edit] for numb fingers missing keys
[2nd edit] eyes mixing up words again

dnope, that's just the way I am... great at visualising stuff, rubbish at hitting the right keys at the right time... can hit 120 word a minute with 300 typos on a good day

    stop4stuff ha!

I once submitted an engineering drawing for production with a typo that was actually the word typo.... (instead of TYP)
