Monicker 3D printed wristwatch

  1. Hi,

I would like to introduce a design I made for the 88'er club! They asked me to design a fully functional 3D printed wristwatch.

You can read the story here: https://88erclub.exposure.co/monicker

All prints are 3D printed by shapeways!

Nice! What about the movement and the hands?

The story says that they install the clock parts.
You can just barely make out the hands in the photo he attached.

Edit: Nope I lied. You can't here on shapeways, I was looking at an image opened from the site.
    Guess the quality went down!

I like the idea behind the watch!

So the only 3d printed parts are the plain case ring around an off-the-shelf quartz movement and the buckle of its leather wristband ? Hmm...

  5. Thanks for the feedback!

    I don't think so;
    - outer shelf
    - inner shelf (holding the watch mechanism)
    - backplate of the inner shelf
    - watch crown
    - buckle
    - buckle fastener

    Not 3D printed:
    - indeed the mechanism (impossible to print because of the details)
    - the leather strap but could be 3D printed in another material but I thinks it's more comfortable this way
    - the glass (not possible yet)

It's not just that simple! Combining materials ain't that easy (shrinking tollerances,...) It's easier to criticize than building it by yourself.
