    Awesome,
    Thanks for posting:

Please tell me you are exhibiting it at 100% design?

I assume it does not come within the budget for the 100% Design contest?

  3. Very, very nice.

    super nice,
I dig the subtle swirl, gives it more life.
this should definitely be on a set of one of the tv shows. (numb3rs, criminal minds...)

curious as to what parameters drive this processing sketch, i have a feeling there's something more than just random, am I right?

thanks guys! glad you like it. It's quite expensive... base cost of ~$400 in wsf and then we'll have to add something on to make a profit.

  10. Maybe something to offer as bespoke pieces? Never make two the same ones? That would justify a relatively high price.

    That's an awesome piece nervoussystem

Are the ridges on the inside or outside?

Yeah, I like their software too but unfortunately it's not for sale (at least it wasn't when I last looked).

hey guys. to answer some questions.

The ridges are on the outside.

Yes I think offering them as all unique pieces would be great. Shapeways should have an api that allows our website to send stl files so customers can order lamps generated on our site :)

No it will not be exhibited at 100% design, it is for an exhibition we are doing in San Francisco.

I put the finishing touches on the lamp today, as you can see below! And shipped it with two other lamp designs to SF for our exhibit. I also made the model public on Shapeways and added a bit of description about the design

We have an API, but at this moment it only supports uploading models, not actually ordering them. Still, maybe you can use it?

I'm curious, it's $508.95. What is the cost with duties and UPS fees?

Not sure about the UPS fees, I ordered this lamp and two slightly more expensive ones and they were delivered with any fees being charged. Sometimes they do send us a bill in the mail later but nothing yet. The package had also been opened, searched and resealed with brown tape.

    Hey,

even though it is a lot of money, some people might still be willing to pay. Also this makes us work twice as hard to reduce SLS prices... Thanks for motivating us ;)
