    My second order arrived.
    I printed:
    A quadrocopter frame, 15cm, 7 grams
More stable then I thought (2x3, 3x3mm frame, 1,5mm for the smaller parts)

    Coin/Size comparison:

"Eisprung" (german wordplay, Ei=Egg, Sprung=Jump, actually means "ovulation")

    Springs really work :)

    Video of the stuff:

I also printed a propeller but only the simple one was printable due to thin parts. Maybee more on one of the next orders... And I printed a rotating logo. If I remember correctly I used 0,75mm gaps, and first was sad that it would not turn, but it was just some powder left, and it then turned just fine...

Thank you shapeways for the excelent service, the frame turned out great.
Amazing what even an amateur can do even in a simple program such as Sketchup.

Now I have to wait for motors and electronic parts...

That looks pretty darn good! :D

Moving parts with fine tolerances, springs and what seems to be a very promising microcopter chassis... Nice work!
And you call yourself an amateur.. :D

    Thank you! :)
Well, as I am just learning, and I am using sketchup, I'dd say so... Or have you ever heard of an "MS Paint professional"? :D

I've seen some wicked works of art in timelapse videos of MS Paintbrush so.. yes, I think so.. :D

    :D

    Thanks :)
Unfortunaly not, I am still waiting for the electric components (4 Brushless 5g motors, controllers, and the TTCCv2 quadrocopter control), so the video is just showing the prints :)

I guess I can still make it a bit lighter and redesign it, now that I can judge the material's properties better.

    More images, more stuff!

As I ordered 4 shipments, I recieved the electronics bit by bit (to stay below the ยค22 tax exempt ammount)

Unfortunaly Shapeways allows only 10 images per message (?!)
So I renamed the tags... sorry, links only now.

    ToDo:
-Remove long 1,5mm roll bar: No stability gained, and propeller will protect board when crash occurs as the board lays below them
-Larger controller mounts, datasheet was not correct (verrrry tight fit)
-Maybee save material on the motor mounts, else it's a tight fit, probably works without screws or glue.

Ideas for stability and airflow optimization while waiting for more parts:

Now all motors and controllers arrived

TTCC-v2 Copter Control board will arrive soon. Hopefully it flies with this setup, 10g BL might be the way to go instead of 5g, but these are in stock, lighter, cheaper and should still have enough thrust.

Side note: My second order with alumide takes longer then 10 days- is it counted as metal or is it just the deadline that caused people ordering more alumide models then the staff can handle at the moment? :)
