I'm usually happy with Shapeways full color printing services but my recent order arrived with some issues. As you can see below, the final product ended up more grainy and details were lost compared to the FCS preview. Picture below shows sample of my previous order. As you can see the final version turns out to be a near exact of the preview and I'm very happy for that. Now I suspect the issue with my recent order is related to the fact that I ordered them along with a Full Color Plastic model as test - perhaps they use a new printer? A report with the question above was submitted but they did not gave me an answer or offered me a refund. I've been a happy Shapeways customer but I can't help but feel disappointed with this experience.
FCS and FCP will certainly use different printers, so one should not affect the other. I wonder if you chose "print it anyway" on the FCS model by any chance ?
