  1. some meshes might be too big, therefore too expensive,
so i would like to know the pricing before i make the decision, how can i do so?

Upload the model on the website :)

Uploading models on our website is free, you don't have to order uploaded models if you don't want to ;)
After some quick checks you will get a quote in all of the available materials.

Another way, depending on what 3D modeling software you use, that will show the volume, is to find the volume and then go to the materials page and see what Shapeways charges per cubic centimeter for the material you want, being sure to add the handling charge for the material.

It's best when you're just starting out to just upload the model though. This give a list of prices for every material that the model can be physically printed in based on the model geometry.
