material selection

  1. I am seeking some advice on material selection for making a friction ball & socket clamp.

The socket is clamped to the ball with a binder screw. Here is a similar example from RAM Mounts:

For the clamp to hold much force, the material needs strength and have friction.
Is "Strong & Flexible" nylon too slippery?
Is "Fine Detail Plastic" acrylic-based photopolymer strong enough?
I have no experience with any of Shapeway's materials. This will be my first go at 3D printing. I Appreciate your advice.
