The Hidden Heart Espresso Cup
Perfect for Valentine's Day (or any other day needing a little heart), The Hidden Heart Espresso Cup reveals a perfect heart shape when a double shot of espresso is poured into it. Because of its complex contours, this hidden shape can't be made with traditional molds or normal ceramic fabrication processes. Food-safe in Glazed Ceramics, and 2 make a perfect couple!
More about why complex shapes are difficult in ceramic:
Ceramic is usually either spun or poured into 2 part molds, but there are several limitations to this. With a spun piece (think pottery wheel), you can only easily make symmetrical shapes, and then if you want alter them a little bit from the outside. With a mold, you can make more complicated shapes but to be able to remove it from the mold, you can't have any contours that overhang (the underside, like a cliff, will get caught on the mold and you won't be able to pull it out). This is usually what's called draft.3D Printing is Cool
Anyway with 3D printing those aren't problems, since the form is being built up layer by layer. The issue of draft goes away entirely, and there's much more freedom to focus on design. I like to design for the hand as well as the eye. Kitchen, food, and drink-ware should almost slide into your hand, and give you a closer connection to what you are putting in your body.Of course, you still have to consider wall thickness and minimum feature height and a couple other things, but that's not a bad trade-off for getting any form you can image!

The intrauterine device (IUD) is the world's most widely used method of reversible birth control for women. But as their production and common materials cost only a few cents, they are sold for a staggering 400$- 850$. Unreachable for many women, especially young ones.
The Bearina IUD is a political product. It demonstrates the disruptive potential of 3D printed Open Designs to give free and global access to essential products, and circumvent industries (such as the Pharma industry) that aggressively defend their intellectual property to control the price and availability of their products. As an Open Design, the Bearina IUD promotes collaborative development and free sharing of knowledge. Further developed by a networked community or in partnership with a forward looking pharma company, It is always available for experimenting with and improving, and could evolve into a functional IUD.
The Bearina, with its bear head image, is visually friendly, to appeal, so to speak, to younger women. It is a conceptual product, a design fiction, and absolutely should not be used as an IUD. Nevertheless, it is designed according to dimensions, materials and shapes commonly found in IUDs.
You are welcome to download the production file of the Bearina IUD (.stl- Creative commons nc-at-sa 3.0 lisence) from my website (www.ronen-kadushin.com). It is free and ready for 3D printing. But if you prefer, you can also download it, or even order some Bearinas from Shapeways.com. They are only 1.25€ each.
In copper- containing IUDs, metal ions dissolving from the device create a spermicidal action. To do precisely that, a 1€ cent coin (copper covered steel) easily snaps in the plastic 3D printed part. An additional piece of nylon string is tied to the bottom part to complete the assembly of the Bearina IUD.

This innovative widget is designed to dispense M&M candies, vitamin pills, medicine, or any tablet-shaped objects, one-at-a-time, using only one hand!
You put the hopper over the base and fill it with your candies or pills. Then, just raise and lower the hopper, and a single piece will magically appear on top.
This is designed for the ceramic materials, and the candy only touches the glazed areas, so it is food safe and easy to clean. The hopper comes off with a twist, so it won't spill its contents during use, but it's easy to disassemble.
Note: The photographs are of the previous revision (mk. 3) - I've enlarged the top hole by 1mm, given the base a bit more weight, and slightly improved the piston. Once I get my test print of this revision, I'll upload new photos and a video.

This pendant is about square kufic love.
The meaning of al-hubb is love rendered in arabic square kufic script. Adding a jumper ring is recommended.
Revised this design to make it printable again in steel. Will release it when prototype has arrived. Original pendant shown on photos was offered to a friend so that really was an unique piece :]
