This is a mobius strip of Level 1 or Super Mario Bros. The whole level is wrapped around itself in a single surface, and poor Mario begins and ends at the same spot every time :(

All the elements from the level are there: every mushroom, turtle, cloud and star. They are all carved out of the surface at different heights, which looks fantastic when you have a light coming from the side, and each block casts a shadow.

It's a great piece to have on your desk, or to hang from a string to let it spin around.

Update: I am currently working on an updated version, which is more robust and uses a more conventional 3-axis design (one servo per axis). I will leave this model available for spare parts. The new model is currently being tested and should be available soon.

This is a 3-axis gyro-stabilsation gimbal for the GoPro HD Hero camera. Intended use is for aerial video and first-person view (FPV) flying.
(Picture shows all the parts - camera is not included, and this is model here is only the back cage. Check the 3D model to see it. For the complete kit you have to order the back cage, the front lid, the servo cage and the mounting arm.  You will also need 3x MKS470 servos, and a 16mm x 8mm ball bearing, not shown)

Video demonstration:

Assembly and servo test

Preliminary Gyro stabilisation test

Current status:
This is still work in progress
- the current version has been slightly improved from the version in the video (I strengthened some of the elastic parts and improved the balancing). The gyro control board is my own design and currently not available yet. I will post an update once it is. The IMU is my design as well, and is available here.

You are welcome to order this design now, but be aware that it's still somewhat "beta". Whatever you do with it is entirely your own risk and responsibility, I unfortunately cannot make any claims towards its usefulness, stability or safety...

I would recommend, before you put this on a flying contraption, consider using a safety string to attach the camera to the plane somehow. GoPro cameras are very robust inside their waterproof case, but not quite so robust without that protection. They don't like crashing into the ground (and trust me, I know - as is probably obvious from the picture of my camera... in all fairness, it did mostly survive...)
Assembly instructions

For the complete kit you have to order the back cage, the front lid, the servo cage and the mounting arm.  The bearing at the top is a 16mm outer, 8mm inner diameter ball bearing, available from many places. Hobbyking sells those as well.
I will possibly modify the mounting bracket in the future and also offer one with a smaller bearing... this one is total overkill! :)

The servos that will fit are the MKS DS470 (available e.g. from Hobbyking). They do have a little play, but they are very smooth and by far the fastest servo I've seen in that size and price class. I'm still on the lookout for different servos that might be a bit smoother.

Assembly:

1) Press the servos onto the mounting bracket and the flexible arms of the back cage.  What works quite well is to carefully push it on just a little (best to put the printed piece onto a flat surface, and gently push the servo in just a bit to align). Then use a screw (maybe with a washer to spread the force), and slowly pull the arm onto the crown. You only have to do that once, it'll be a tight, smooth fit afterwards.
Remove the servos again after this step.

2) Mount the 3 servos on the servo mounting frame.  Start with the yaw servo (the vertical one in the middle). The yaw servo crown has to face downwards (might be a bit fiddly). Make sure the crown of the yaw servo is aligned with the little stub axle on the opposite side. The two roll/pitch servos have to be inserted so that the crown faces the camera (towards the flat side of the mounting arm).

3) Press the mounting bracket onto the yaw servo crown, and put in the screw to hold it in place. On the opposite side, press in the 16mm/8mm ball bearing.

4) Carefully push the disk-shaped closure knob into the cylinder at the top of the camera back cage. You might need to rotate it a bit to ease it into place

5) Push the flexible arms of the back cage onto the two roll/pitch servos, and fix with screws.

-- Update: Seems the MKS has too much gain for the yaw axis, and tends to oscillate a bit with all that weight swinging around. They are fine for the Pitch/Roll arms. I'm still looking for a small servo with high speed, smoothness and no (or little) play... Suggestions are of course welcome!!

-- The servos are still a very tight fit into the control arms and the bracket. I already made it a bit larger, but still not enough. What works quite well is to carefully push it on just a little (best to put the arms onto a flat surface, and gently push the servo in just a bit to align). Then use a screw (maybe with a washer to spread the force), and slowly pull the arm onto the crown. You only have to do that once, it'll be a tight, smooth fit afterwards.

Version 1.0

Edit: The world famous Transformers customizer Encline has put up a review of this pair of Optimus Prime's hands! In the video he shows the assembly process, installation, and he finally showcases how well the hands worked, holding weapons and giving various poses! Again, I am very honoured to have my designs reviewed in such an awesome manner. Link is located below!

A pair of hands for ROTF Leader class Optimus Prime! These hands are fully articulated with ball joints on the fingers, thumbs and wrists! Also, they are capable of holding 5mm peg mechtech weapons as well as his original rifle!

Recommended material: Strong Flexible

Just added: a photo of an awesome leader Starscream custom using these hands, done by my good friend Encline!

Note: I have tested these hands in both Strong Flexible and Detail material, and I conclude SF is the better alternative as it is much hardier and is able to stand up to the wear and tear of the joints. Detail material is disappointingly unable to do so, and the joints are too loose for comfort. For better surface detail, I highly recommend ordering the hands in White Strong Flexible Polished!

A pair of posable hands for the Revenge of the Fallen Leader Starscream figure!

Each order comes with 2 hands with interchangeable core, giving customizers the freedom to mount the core with a 5mm socket to allow arming of compatible weapons, or the lack of a socket for an aesthetically pleasing appearance.

Each hand possesses 3 posable fingers on ball-joints, bending in 2 places, and 2 thumbs also mounted on ball joints.

The wrist too, is on a ball joint, allowing for dynamic poses on a already awesome figure.

Due to the nature of the installation, this model is for experienced customizers only. You need a dremel, cutting knife and a strong epoxy sculpt. These are for removing the existing hands and installing the wrist ball-joints in their place.

Half Life 2 meets Portal. Gordon Freeman and Alyx Vance's best friend, DOG, contemplating the beauty of his new toy, a companion cube. What else could you possibly want? Oh, that's right, Half-Life 2 Episode 3 would be nice...

Gabe, are you listening?

This uses the original texture maps from the game, you can even see the Lambda Half Life logo on DOG's back.

It wasn't easy! I had to remap all the textures manually, and fix all the geometry to make it printable and thick enough to support the weight. I also made most large pieces hollow, but you won't notice that at all (except in the reduced price this provided).

This cube really is something quite special.

About a year ago, after seeing the Transformers movie, I was inspired, by the behaviour of the alien technology in the AllSpark cube, to try and design a puzzle that could expand equally in all directions. To make things even harder, I wanted each piece to be locked in place by the preceding move.

After many prototypes I finally succeeded in creating this unique sculpture consisting of six parts.

The first stage in solving the puzzle involves discovering how the pieces fit together in the expanded configuration. (One of these moves includes a rotation, which makes it much harder to crack by computer!)

The second stage is to collapse the expanded cube down to the smaller cube by pressing each of the faces in the correct sequence.

The name of the puzzle comes from a (now obsolete) alternative to the Big Bang Theory proposed by Fred Hoyle. I like the fact that from its expanded, steady state the cube can either collapse inwards or explode outwards.

In response to requests from friends and supporters, I did a revised version of my posable hands for the DOTM leader Sentinel Prime figure, this time to be much more movie accurate and with even more detail!

Each hand is articulated at the wrist with a ball joint. The fingers each are double jointed, and even the thumbs are on ball joints. The leader's hands are big enough for me to design it such that it can hold weapons without relying on the tension of the finger joints, so you can pose them in many different ways, with many different weapons. Transformation is very much possible, I made sure of that (yay!). Just make sure the fingers are arranged properly, kinda similar to how the original fingers were. IssuesThe test sample has a loose wrist ball-joint. This issue is not fixed as I used the same measurements as my other hands. Those hands came out with tight joints so it beats me why this sample was loose. Use super glue to tighten if necessary. As the joints are all designed to be sturdy and the pieces are kinda chunky, I will not recommend ordering them in Detail material or Frosted Ultra Detail material as they will most likely break under that pressure. However, I still will make these materials available for those who are picky about their surface detail. Buyer beware!

Detailed sniper assault rifle with flip-down bipod converts into a 56mm robot action figure with 9 points of articulation.

Gun mode comes with a choice of three handles, any one of which can be fit onto the figure during assembly (and since they are attached via a simple clip-in hinge, you can keep the others handy and swap them later if you choose). Option 1 is a standard 5mm post, which is compatible with any figure bearing a 5mm peg hole. Options 2 and 3 are modified versions of the post, which can still be used by figures with 5mm peg holes, but also have built-in clips which allow them to clip onto any 3mm diameter rail. One version has the opening of the clip positioned parallel to the length of the gun, the other perpendicular.

Version 3.0

"It's Seismus. The 'S' is silent."

Seismus hails from the Smashmasters, a clan of alien robots who eschews the cowardly methods of ranged combat in preference of going into the thick of things and smashing their enemies. Obviously, no matter how good their legendary close combat skills are, many of them are unable to survive the realities of war, and many of them perished to the guns they hated so much.

There are few who remain, but those with the fortune of having one as an ally will discover they still seethe with uncontrollable rage and raw power.

Seismus comes armed with a spear, shield and a mini-Seismus hammer, and he can be transformed into a lethal war hammer. The shaft of the spear, or the handle of the hammer is 3mm in diameter, but he comes with 2 conversion sheaths to allow larger figures with 5mm peg fists to be able to hold him.

This model is tested in White Strong Flexible.

A pair of claw weapons for the HFTD Tomahawk figure! This design is inspired by the appearance of the Wrecker Whirl in the IDW comics, and are meant to emulate his 4 fingered claw design.

Each finger-claw has 2 ball joints and are mounted on a wrist section which can rotate 360d as well.

Because of the fist-sheath that is supposed to hide the original hands of the figure, these claws are not suitable for all figures. As a rough guideline, the width of the figure's forearm should be equal to or narrower than 12mm. Also, the figure should be able to hold a 5mm peg handle.

Designed for the Generations Red Alert mold, this head modification will fit any 5mm standard ball joint neck. Transform your spare Generations Red Alert into the Headmaster known as CHROMEDOME! The Chromehead upgrade is modeled based on the character's representation in the Takara's "The Headmasters" Transformers anime. The recommended material is Polished White Strong and Flexible, though the figure is detailed enough to warrant a Frosted Ultra Detail production. I would only recommend that choice to customizers that will be able to finely detail the paint apps. Be forewarned: Frosted Ultra Detail is extremely fragile on this model. Ball joints are known to break for no reason other than transforming back into robot mode. That's why I would recommend a more resistant material like WSF. You might need to sand the three posts on the back of Chromehead's face. They are slightly longer by design to allow the head to pop off and on to the ball joint, but the excess in height leaves a visible crease (only if you look at it sideways... and you can easily position the arms of the figure to hide those anyway, I'm just writing it out here so that I don't get crappy feedback about shoddy design). Sanding required to "tighten", though bear in mind that paint will also do the same. Painting / dyeing required. Check out G2P-005b for the chest "Tech Spec Meter" and G2P-005c for G1 Toy Inspired guns!
