reducedAircraftFactory @fgstichaner Unfortunately the printing costs tend to go up with the cube of the scale (or inverse scale), so a 1:72 model would cost roughly US$100 and 1:48 about $300-400. That's why you don't see a lot of large-scale models here on Shapeways.
reducedAircraftFactory @fgstichaner What I am saying is that *I* do not ship anything. When you place an order, Shapeways decides where to print your item, and therefore from whence *they* are going to ship. If you're curious where Shapeways will print things, you could try asking them directly, or just order something and check the shipping label. If a customer is in the US, their order is probably printed in New York. If the customer lives in Europe, the print would probably come from Eindhoven.
reducedAircraftFactory @fgstichaner We designers aren't involved in the printing and shipping directly. Shapeways will print the model in one of their factories (presumably the closest one) and ship it directly to you.
reducedAircraftFactory @fgstichaner Doubling the size means 8x the volume, so a 1/72 model would cost on the order of $100. That's usually enough to scare off any interest in the large scales.
Now in beta in two forms: Morane-Saulnier L - http://shpws.me/Mkst 1/144 Morane-Saulnier Type L (Fighter)
New in Beta: a 1917-model SPAD 13 with rounded wing tips. http://shpws.me/MclW 1/144 SPAD 13 (Early)
German Tent Hangar (Large)
reducedAircraftFactory @reconrego: There is a new, smaller version of this product available now at a lower price: http://shpws.me/LUVq
reducedAircraftFactory @reconrego: Unfortunately the pricing is very much driven by Shapeways' pricing model for this material. Before Sept 2014, it was possible to do an inexpensive model just as a framework or skeleton, but that is no longer viable.
