The third public evolution of the Animaris Geneticus Parvus. #7 has evolved legs, with pointy feet instead of flat. Featuring a fully working Theo Jansen mechanism as used in his work "the Rhinoceros".
Also see our new Propeller Propulsion add-on, to have your Strandbeest walk autonomously!

The mechanism is printed assembled, and will work without further assembly right after birth from the printer.

A few tips to consider:

- After birth there might be a little powder left in some joints, or it might not go supersmooth. This will fix itself after the animal has a little bit of practice!

- Some surfaces work better than others. The legs require a little friction, and a flat surface. So for example: A rough table or floor, thin flat carpeting, or a thin rubber sheet. It will slip on a too smooth surface.

- The best way to push it is by its nameplate. Do not push down, but forward.

- The beest is light, but quite strong. It can actually be dropped without breaking. It is not a "toy" however, and not suitable for children. The 3D printer material is easy to stain so clean hands are advised.

Dodecahedral sibling of Gyro the Cube.
Same principle, more faces, more rings and more fun ;-)
Made of five nested dodecahedra, each one is limited to rotate about it's own axis.

This is the 6.5cm / 2.5" version, see the Gyro the Forms
Experimental corner stand available here

Instructions
For tighter clearances it is printed with the hinges out of place. So this model needs a little manual assembly. Each element has two "knobs" which need to be "clicked" into the corresponding "clamps" in the parent element.
It's easiest to start with the inner one and then continue outwards.
And then... rotate away !

The bony skeletal structure of an origami paper crane. Created following the traditional crane model, for any lovers or the art of paper folding out there.

The detail is incredible, you can see textures and complex shapes even inside of the rib cage. The poor contorted crane has legs and feet, they are folded into its torso in true origami fashion. And vertebrae on the tail you say? What else did you expect?

Rat earrings.
Tested in stainless steel. The earrings are heavy and the hook is thick, but they are suitable for wearing and are easier to put on than their strong and flexible material version. The hooks on the ones in the photos are slightly polished so they are a bit different from what comes straight from Shapeways.
Please feel free to download and use this model any way you wish.

This is a large somewhat abstract version of a dandelion. It's very cool in person, and would probalby look very interesting with designer lighting placed on it. It's a great addition to a room for someone that has everything, becasue I'm sure they don't have this yet. Check it out on youTube as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mLc6lftEFE

I revised the Christmas Ornament RBS to have just a little more slope. I'm hoping it's enough to have the marble roll without problem. I added a few new things. This one has a circular base so that it should stand on its own. I also beefed up the frame to make it more durable. There's less rungs and a few more braces. I will have to print it and test it. If you just want one even though it hasn't been tested, please feel free to order but you're on your own. http://www.rollingballsculpture.net

Stag beetles are amazing creatures. They look like tiny knights in full armor. I think there a not many left of this brave soldiers ... I saw my last stag beetle when I was a kid!

This stag beetle can be used as a pendant!

There is an awesome scarab pendant available which was a great inspiration for this stag beetle. It was made by Elytra. Check it out!

This fully posable crayfish has moving joints - antennae, eyes, legs, claws, and tail - printed in place. It is inspired by the handmade articulated Japanese sculptures of insects and crustaceans, 'jizai okimono' which were popular in the Meiji era.

The default material is white nylon sintered plastic, which is relatively tough and can be painted with acrylic paints.

Dice Template
These are the 5 platonic solids to be used as dice template.

You can download them freely and modify them.
If you want to order this set of platonic solids as they are, there is no markup: you just pay for the material (as usual, shipping is free for any order of $25 or more).

In order to reduce the cost, they are hollow, with a tunnel joining the internal shell to the external shell. This tunnel is meant to prevent the automatic repair tool of Shapeways from removing the internal shell. But it is small enough to be invisible and to keep the support material inside.
The thickness of the models is 1.5 mm which is thick enough for Strong and Flexible materials, Details materials and Alumide.

A Youtube tutorial on how to hollow a die is also available.

Large cellular bat pendant with built-in loops for chain or chord. Chain or chord not included. The spooky webbed bat pendant is large enough to make a serious fashion statement. At nearly 11 cm wide (more than 4 inches) this creepy creature will definitely get noticed. This monster is available in Sterling silver and ultra-high detailed frosted translucent plastic.

A model of a three axle 55 ton mobile crane, this version includes wheels and a second winch, to assemble it you need a M3x6 bolt with nut, 1mm steel rods and some 0.3 or 0.5 mm brass wire, it's something for advanced modellers. Some parts may need to be sanded to fit together and some holes need to be widened with a drill.

This Z scale (1/220 scale) kit is based on an early 1970’s CAT 980 open station Articulating wheel loader (before mandatory ROPS requirement). It has an operating weight of about 25 tons with a 260 horsepower diesel power plant and a 4.5 cubic yard general purpose bucket. Model can be built to articulate. Railings on this model are extremely fragile. See images for detailed instructions on how to remove plastic casing that protects the hand rails. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------NOTE: MODEL CAN ONLY BE PROPERLY PRINTED IN FROSTED ULTRA DETAIL MATERIAL. FEATURES ARE TOO SMALL FOR PRINTING IN OTHER MATERIALS. This kit has extremely small parts that can easily get lost forever in your carpet or floor, handle with great care. It is highly recommended you clean your kit parts in an ultrasonic cleaner with dawn dishwashing liquid (non bleach formula) and water mixture before painting and final assembly. For best results, airbrush parts in desired color scheme before final assembly. Most important, have fun building your kit and add it to your Z scale layout!

Think outside the box!

GeomBlocks T/O is a modular construction set for building shapes in tetrahedral / octahedral geometry.

One way to tile space is with cubes. But that's not the only way. Regular tetrahedra and octahedra also tile space, in an alternating honeycomb pattern. (They can also build larger copies of themselves!)

In GeomBlocks T/O, the tetrahedra have connectors that plug into the octahedra -- and half octahedra, which also turn out to be useful.

This basic set consists of 18 each of half octahedra and two-connector tetrahedra, and 4 each of octahedra, one-, three-, and four-connector tetrahedra. The unit edge length is 20mm.

Use GeomBlocks to explore the mathematics of tessellations, build geometric sculpture, or design puzzles outside the same old cubic landscape. (Complex puzzles might require multiple sets. Some of the photos show multiple sets in multiple colors.)

A 1/24th scale version of a pneumatic jack. The jack is fully functional with rolling wheels, spinning back casters that also roll and up and down articulation. Even the lift plate rotates. These are functional upon printing and move very easily if they are soaked in isopropyl alcohol for 20 minutes (longer than an hour leaves a white film). This cleans off the suspension medium sticky fluid wax. If the stops for various heights no longer work, a little paint or vasoline on the stops in the back will bring them back

This model is of Brewster station, located in Brewster, New York. The original station was built in 1931 by the New York Central Railroad. The line is still in operation, under the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and Metro-North Railroad. I've tried to be as close to historically correct as possible - modeling the station not as it looks today, but as it looked when it was first built.

This is a size 6 ring. It has a full unit cell of diamond cubic structure displayed. Get her that "diamond" ring she always wanted!!!! I intend to order one to make sure it prints alright and put up a real photo, but you're welcome to order before that. I'll scale up things later to allow for gold plated and all that.
