If M.C. Escher had owned fidget toys, he would have worn "One ring to rule the ball" as a pendant. A single, continuous line contains a small ball that makes orbit after mesmerizing orbit but cannot escape, always held down in four directions. Available in solid, durable stainless steel with optional antique bronze and gold plated finishes to fit any context, "One ring to rule the ball" now also includes a free rubber necklace so that you can confuse your mind any time the fancy strikes you! One customer echoes many others in saying, "I couldn't put it down. This thing is just too fun!"

Purchases by those gracious customers have now paid for the design time on this piece so it is available on a pay-what-you-want basis. Ordering from this page contributes 5$ towards continuing work such as the new, even more impossible "One ring to pwn the ball" (just released October 18th!) which can be found at http://www.shapeways.com/model/145172/one_ring_to_pwn_the_ball.html and the open-source "Ultimate Desk Toy" at http://www.shapeways.com/model/109166/ultimate_desk_toy.html . I created the skeleton of a skeletal Lepidoptera. The Death's Head Hawkmoth (Acherontia atropos), seen on The Silence of the Lambs , has a skull marking on its back. I made a full human-like bone structure for the moth, with the grinning skull protruding from its back.

The model is very thin, yet sturdy and flexible. Detail level is fantastic, and the natural texture of the 3d printing process gives it a bone-like appearance that works wonders.

Yes, moths don't have endoskeletons, that's the whole point...

A Sierpinski tetrahedron, the 3D version of the Sierpinski triangle, stage 5 I think. There are 4096 of the smallest triangles and 1024 of the smallest tetrahedrons. The model has 499994 faces.

Update:
The edges are now almost 18 cm (7 in) long and it stands about 14.5 cm (5.7 in) high.

The model has been updated because the smallest struts were a bit too small to be printed. So it's now 1.5 times bigger in all directions.

The pictures are of the previous smaller version, the new version has been ordered successfully a number of times in WSF.

I created the model using POVray and MeshLab.

Put it with your keys on a key ring,
hang it on a chain / rope,
or lay it on a flat surface.

The hole for the chain / ring is 4.5 mm wide in diameter.

To be fair, in the renders, I simulated the printing lines you may have with steel, bronze and gold.

Original design.

The ultimate oldschool badge of mastery - the Elite wings.
Wear them proudly. (Or stash them with mementos, or badge a computer, or... )

- Available in gold-plated bronze (as seen in the photos), and other materials/finishes.

(I earned a badge years ago, but never had one, and they weren't being manufactured, so... one day I decided to fix that. Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, the item can be made available here for others too!)

Materials options/tips - I recommend the gravitas of the solid metal materials - particularly the gold plated or the bronze. Solid silver is probably overkill, but it's an option. In the plastics, "Frosted Ultra Detail" may have a yellowish tint, which might not be the desired look, but it offers a high-detail-lower-cost material if you were planning on painting the badge yourself, and it's translucent if you wanted to make the badge light up with an LED or similar. "Alumide" is nylon mixed with aluminum powder to give the plastic a more metallic grey look.

A 3D take on the Guild Seal. About 2.5 inches across. This is just a disc, can be attached to the front of a leather journal very nicely in whatever material you wish.

A knife artifact familiar to players of the old adventure game game Riven. The blade is a little under 1.5" and the length is about 2.4" all together.
