Make your own slide-on macro lens for the iPhone 4 or 4S. I designed this for my iPhone 4 when I couldn't find the image quality I wanted for less than $60.

Print this model and then buy the glass lens for $4 from Surplus Shed (http://www.surplusshed.com/). The Surplus Shed part number is L4471. For some reason the search box on the Surplus Shed home page does not work with part numbers. To get to L4471, use the "Lens Finder". In the Lens Finder type:

Lens Type: PCX, Plano Convex
Diameter: 12mm to 12mm
Focal length: 51mm to 51mm

It will get you to L4471

The lens fits in a recess in the model and is held in place with a few tiny drops of Superglue. If you get any glue on the lens it can cleaned off with nail polish remover or acetone. The lens is plano-convex (one side is flat). When inserted in the holder, the flat side of the lens faces the phone.

Note that the lens fits pretty snugly into the opening. Try fitting the lens before applying any glue. A good technique is, with the lens holder laying face-down on a table, lay the lens in position, and then push it into the recess by poking the lens with the eraser-end of a pencil. Once you know the lens fits cleanly, push it back out and put two tiny drops of superglue on opposite edges of the opening. I use a toothpick to apply the glue because squeezing the superglue directly out of the tube risks putting on too much. Then push the lens back in the same way as in the test fit.

The object pictures in the photo gallery (dime, ruler, and watch) are unedited and uncropped shots directly from my iPhone4.

This model will not slide over iPhone cases.

Check out my blog: http://dynath40k.blogspot.com/ In future, may thin the walls or release larger sets. I'm not just a die hard Star Marine player, I also have a long revivified collection of robot corpses. To celebrate their new model line I tossed these together to replace their horrible green plastic rods. these are scaled the same as the old rods but bare the design marks of the new molded plastic guns. They are done up in a set of 20. A future release might be much larger if people have interest in more of them.

The Fire Gauntlet is an articulated hard-shelled glove, 3D printed all at once, fully assembled. The model is based on a 3D scan of my hand, with a 1.5mm clearance between the scanned surface and the printed model to allow for a Nomex cloth lining. Ideally the final design would be in stainless steel, but there are many challenges to making that happen. This prototype is a good start.

This version is only for display and is bonded to the production frame. It was printed using White Strong & Flexible material, painted and mounted on a wooden base.

This Scavenger Mod pack is a collection of Arms, Tentacles, heads, wings and weapons used to modify standard 28mm figures into putrid mutated post apocalyptic scavengers. The pack contains 1 head with bony protrusions, 2 heads with eyes on stalks, 2 necks with two heads, 1 Claw, 1 Chitin Claw, 1 double arm with Laser pistol and claw, 2 sets of wings, 3 different blunderbuses, and 2 tentacles. They are attached at the base by a single sprue which must be carefully trimmed away by a sharp razorblade. suggestions and critiques are welcome and appreciated

Designed to rotate a miniature in 3 dimensions, this base consists of two interlocking rings which can be rotated freely. Turning the rings allowing the miniature within to be rotated to face any direction. The ring is marked at 30 degree angles, but the miniature can be turned to face any angle. Friction from the large surface areas in contact holds the miniature in place.

The inner ring is about 5.5cm/2.1" in diameter, while the outer ring is about 7cm/2.75" in diameter. The example model (an NSL light cruiser from GZG) is about 5cm/2" long. This size of ring should work with models up to 6cm/2.5" long (as long as the mounting hole is in the middle of the ship) - the slight flex of the rings will cause anything longer to hit the bottom of the ring if pointed vertically upwards. There should be no problem with friction holding reasonably balanced metal models of this size in place - the only problem I have had is so far is with am unbalanced designs with a resin front and metal rear where the heavy rear causes the model to spin on its own.

This design has been tested with White Strong and Flexible material - the slight roughness of the materials works well to hold the rings in place while the slight flex makes it more robust. It should work with any coloured strong and flexible materials, but other materials such as White Details are probably too smooth and brittle.

This design comes with a 3mm wide hole in the inner ring which can hold a standard flight peg cut to the right height tightly - I haven't needed to use any glue to hold any models in place so far. This allows a single ring to be used for multiple models, and for models to be swapped from standard bases to ring bases and back.

This design includes a 2.4cm/1" square base.

The spaceship model and flight peg are not included.

Here we have a custom design for an advanced assault weapon that uses a centrifugal magnetic array to propel rounds. Its designed to be both a bit sleak in design and chunky to portray its futuristic durability. It has been designed for 28mm miniatures and is 21mm long. Future revisions may shrink it in size and/or shell the model.
