The Hyphae lamp is a series of organic table lamps based on how veins form in leaves. Each lamp is a completely one-of-a-kind design 3D-printed in nylon plastic. The lamps are lit by eco-friendly LED's and cast dramatic branching shadows on the wall and ceiling.

About Hyphae
Hyphae is a collection of 3D printed artifacts constructed of rhizome-like networks. Inspired by the vein structures that carry fluids through organisms from the leaves of plants to our own circulatory systems, we created a simulation which uses physical growth principles to build sculptural, organic structures. Starting from an initial seed and a surface, we grow a hierarchical network where nodes constantly branch and merge. The densely interconnected structure is at once airy and strong.
Lighting Specifications
The lamp comes with an eco-friendly 3-watt 200 lumen LED light fixture with three bright Cree LED's that will last for 6 years of continuous use. It is UL-listed and works off a 120V or 240V outlet.

The Ribbon Ring by AMINIMAL studio is part of the Field Test collection, which is inspired by the structures found in magnetic fields. This ring stretches over two fingers with layered narrow strips of nylon intertwined, forming a truly unique and modern accessory.

Inspired by the complex forms of radiolarians, where intricate pattern is integral to structure, these shapes derive from a simulation of spring meshes. We created interactive software to morph, twist, and subdivide each design, transforming a simple mesh to a complex patterned structure.

Awarded third place in the 3D-Design Competition in October of 2011, Breathable Roots is a wall-hanging planter, which oxygenates its greenery’s roots through the tunnels created by the interconnectedness of the skin’s membrane. Excess water falls into a smaller, detachable piece located at the bottom.

A large trumpet shaped ring with a slender band. A network of veins grows from the base of the ring, encircling your finger and then expanding upwards and outwards above your hand.
