For the AMT Man In Space Kit. This set of parts vastly improves the detail and accuracy of the Man In Space kit. These parts include replacement capsules for Mercury Redstone, Mercury Atlas and Gemini Titan, and replacement service modules for the Saturn V and Saturn Ib. The service modules included in the original kit are Block I, which never flew a manned mission. The service modules in this set represent the Block II service module which flew all manned Apollo Missions, Saturn V and Saturn Ib.

Two 1/288 scale Maurice Farman MF.11 "Shorthorn" WWI aeroplanes, as was used early in WWI by the French and most Entente nations. Only available in Frosted Ultra Detail (FUD). Struts, booms, and undercarriage are somewhat thick for the scale, but they are the minimum supported by the FUD printers. For this price you get two individual aircraft models. See also the four-pack with crew, and the Italian variant: the Savoia Pomilio S.P.1.

The body of this model is hollow.. the nacelles will accept 4mm pager motors to make the propellers spin.

Intended to be a replacement for the Ju 87 series the Bv 237 could be configured either for ground attack or as a dive bomber. So far as I can tell the contract was cancelled in 1943 before production had started. This is the 2-seater variant with rear defensive barbette, I have not included any bombs or gun blisters to make the model more flexible.

The original for this model was a 5/8 scale technology demonstrator that first flew in 1943 for a British fast bomber project (the M39). The M39B flew successfully and apparently had no undesirable handling characteristics. The project was cancelled and the M39B was broken up. The name Libellula comes from a type of dragonfly and was used by Miles for more than one design.

1939 design study for a large 'medium' bomber with pressurised cockpit and heavy defensive armament. The twin booms were to allow a clear field of fire for a gun position in the rear of the fuselage. Cancelled because of availability problems for the high grade fuel for the powerful engines required.

Desperate expedient thrown together in the dark days of WW2 after the retreat from France by mounting a 4 gun bomber turret on the tail of a Lysander. Apparently is was meant for use against invasion barges in the manner of the an AC130 gunship. Despite its odd appearance (the enlarged tail is actually a second 'De Lanne' wing) the P-12 Wendover is reported to have handled well, retaining the excellent manouverability of the original Lysander.

At first glance this heavy fighter/light bomber design study of the late 1930s appears conventional, however appearances can be deceptive. The twin engines were buried in the thickened wing root and the nacelles contain only the extension drive shaft and annular radiators. This has been one of the most difficult aircraft to model, the complex shape of the fuselage with the engine bulge has required many iterations to achieve with a reasonable amount of material. I suspect that had this aircraft been built it would have been expensive to manufacture and awkward to maintain.

French carrier based light attack aircraft based on a design from the start of WW2. Due to the Germany occupation the first flight was not until 1947 after which the design was reworked to use jets instead of piston engines.

The Fokker D.XXIII was a Dutch single-seat fighter designed and built by Fokker. Only one aircraft was flown before the country was invaded by the Germans in May 1940. The prototype first flew on 30 May 1939 powered by two Walter Sagitta I-SR liquid cooled vee piston engines. The trial flights identified problems with the cooling of the rear engine and general engine performance. It was proposed to use Rolls-Royce or Daimler-Benz engines in the production aircraft. Concerns were also raised about the pilot clearing the rear propeller if he had to bail out and an ejector seat was studied. The programme was abandoned in May 1940 when the German forces invaded the Netherlands.

1941 design concept for a heavy fighter propelled by twinned engines positioned at the aircraft's centre of mass. The 'Bloodhawk' design from the FASA's old Crimson Skies setting setting is superficially similar but somewhat smaller (see photo).

Design study from 1942 for a fast bomber/ground attack aircraft intended to outpace the de Havilland Mosquito. Like the Mosquito it was not planned to carry any guns when configured as a bomber relying on its speed for defence. Modelling Note: I can't make the published dimensions for this aircraft fit with the available plans. The model has the correct wingspan but I've fudged the length. The old Crimson Skies setting had an aircraft called the 'Warhawk' with the same configuration as the 170 and the metal model (heavy & undersize) is still available.

The Boeing YB-9 was the first all-metal monoplane bomber aircraft designed for the United States Army Air Corps. The YB-9 was an enlarged alteration of Boeing's Model 200 Commercial Transport. The first of the five Y1B-9As entered service with the 20th and 49th Bombardment Squadrons, 2nd Bomb Group on 14 September 1932, with all being in service by the end of March 1933. The new bomber proved impossible to intercept during air exercises in May 1932, strengthening calls for improved air defense warning systems. Two B-9s were destroyed during crashes in 1933, one of the accidents being fatal, while the remaining aircraft were gradually phased out over the next two years, with the last being withdrawn on 26 April 1935.

Two 1/288 scale Savoia Pomilio S.P.1 WWI aeroplanes. This is the Italian-licensed model of the Maurice Farman M.F.11 with modified fuselage, tailplane, and removed outer struts. Only available in Frosted Ultra Detail (FUD). Struts, booms, and undercarriage are somewhat thick for the scale, but they are the minimum supported by the FUD printers. For this price you get two individual aircraft models. See also the four-pack with crew, and the standard: the Maurice Farman MF.11. Only available in Frosted Ultra Detail because some of the details are too thin for other materials.

1944 concept design for a 'arrow wing' fighter, this is the more conservative version using the proven DB 603 engine rather than the more powerful As 413. I chose this version because I think it's a slightly more interesting arrangement with the big underslung radiator and because the diagrams were easier to interpret.

I'm puzzled by one thing, there's a huge inlet for the radiator but no outlet - web searches just show more images of the same conundrum.

A 'homage' to the Northrop 'Jeep' flying wing. I hope this model captures the spirit of the original design even though I was forced to make informed guesses for a number of key features.
