Developed in late 1916, the Caproni Ca.3 biplane bomber used the same airframe and landing gear as its predecessors, the Ca.1 and Ca.2. With more powerful engines, improved performance and increased bomb capacity, the Ca.3 bomber series was produced in large numbers and remained in service until the end of the war.

"The SPAD S.VII was the first of a series of highly successful biplane fighter aircraft produced by Société Pour L'Aviation et ses Dérivés (SPAD) during the First World War. Like its successors, the S.VII was renowned as a sturdy and rugged aircraft with good climbing and diving characteristics. It was also a stable gun platform, although pilots used to the more maneuverable Nieuport fighters found it heavy on the controls." WWI aeroplanes

Replacement Mercury and Gemini Capsules for the AMT Man In Space kit.

Two 1/288 scale Maurice Farman MF.11 "Shorthorn" WWI aeroplanes, as was used early in WWI by the French and most Entente nations. Only available in Frosted Ultra Detail (FUD). Struts, booms, and undercarriage are somewhat thick for the scale, but they are the minimum supported by the FUD printers. For this price you get two individual aircraft models. Soviet 1960's era concept

WW2 Soviet reconnaisance biplane, 1/200 scale

1939 design study for a large 'medium' bomber with pressurised cockpit and heavy defensive armament. The twin booms were to allow a clear field of fire for a gun position in the rear of the fuselage. Cancelled because of availability problems for the high grade fuel for the powerful engines required.

Desperate expedient thrown together in the dark days of WW2 after the retreat from France by mounting a 4 gun bomber turret on the tail of a Lysander. Apparently is was meant for use against invasion barges in the manner of the an AC130 gunship. Despite its odd appearance (the enlarged tail is actually a second 'De Lanne' wing) the P-12 Wendover is reported to have handled well, retaining the excellent manouverability of the original Lysander.

At first glance this heavy fighter/light bomber design study of the late 1930s appears conventional, however appearances can be deceptive. The twin engines were buried in the thickened wing root and the nacelles contain only the extension drive shaft and annular radiators. This has been one of the most difficult aircraft to model, the complex shape of the fuselage with the engine bulge has required many iterations to achieve with a reasonable amount of material. I suspect that had this aircraft been built it would have been expensive to manufacture and awkward to maintain.

French carrier based light attack aircraft based on a design from the start of WW2. Due to the Germany occupation the first flight was not until 1947 after which the design was reworked to use jets instead of piston engines.
