Accused of being fake, witchcraft and simply impossible..
This kinetic sculpture is inspired by the unlimited freedom of 3d printing,
it wobbles and turns with a slight movement of the hand.
Now give it a good spin or puff of air and it erupts in erratic and wild behavior.

This is the 5cm / 2" version, see the Gyro the Forms section for other shapes and sizes.
Corner stand available separately, or get the complete set below!

NEW!
Now also available as a pendant/keyfob!
In both Extra small and Small

Instructions
It is composed of four concentric cubes, each one spinning around a different axis.
The model needs some minor assembly:
Each inner cube has two knobs which need to be placed into the corresponding clamps in the parent cube. It's easiest to start with the inner most and continue outward.
And then... spin it away !

Notes
Do not be alarmed if your cube will not run smoothly at first!
Because of minor variations as a result of the printing process,
some need to wear in a little but will loosen up very quickly.
In the example video I am blowing on it to make it move, it's that smooth.

Be a little careful with (the assembly of) the Alumide version as this material is slightly less flexible/robust than the Strong & Flexible materials.

Get a complete set.
A default set consists of an Alumide Gyro the Cube and a White stand, you can change the materials in your cart later. 118x87_36851_89894_1338413385.jpg + 118x87_387662_147353_1338413388.jpg

The filigree design over the skull symbolizes ever growing renewal over the ghost of the past. This is the original design as featured on Kickstarter. It became their #1 most funded sculpture project of all time. Small is pictured sitting in the hand. See pic of all 3 sizes together for comparison.

The product at this page is the PadFoot model that fits perfectly to iPad 2 as well as the 3d and 4th generation iPad. For PadFoot for iPad 1, go here.

PadFoot, the popular viewing stand for iPad, is now available for iPad 2 and the 3d and 4th generation iPad.

PadFoot clips to the corner of your iPad and will securely stand it upright in both landscape and portrait mode. It’s great for watching movies, clips and slideshows, for making FaceTime calls, as well as for use in presentations and (shop) displays.

At just 10 grams, PadFoot is now even lighter and smaller than its predecessor, with an increased viewing angle for even more viewing comfort - while it’s as stable and sturdy as ever.

Price information

The prices of PadFoot have been reduced by up to 20%. If you like, you can save shipping costs by combining this product with another product, like the ones from my shop; or just browse the galleries. A wholesale pack of 4 PadFoots, at up to 30% lower prices, is available here.

General information

PadFoot is manufactured in tough but lightweight, 3d printed polyamide with a fine surface texture. Check the materials section of this website for more information. Colors are seasonal; current availability is shown at the bottom of this page - this may be different from the colors shown in the images above. Each product ordered is individually manufactured, just for you. If you are new to the Shapeways site: to order, you'll be asked to create an account (it's easy; you can even log in with Facebook or Twitter).

It's best to use PadFoot on a stable and horizontal surface. Always make sure that your iPad is placed all the way into the opening in PadFoot; resting the iPad on one of its two edges without buttons. PadFoot will only work if your iPad has no cover on it. Product ships in basic Shapeways packaging. Inspired by Maori and Pacific Island bone carvings this is the second in a series of Torus based necklaces that feature a tesselating pattern that wraps the geometric form in three dimensions. At first glance the shapes may appear to be simply cut into the skin of the object but when held in your hand and rotated the repeating pattern begins to reveal itself.

The image shows the pendant printed in Stainless Steel but it is available in a variety of material choices including plastic, sterling silver and gold.
The pendant does not ship with a necklace but when combined with a simple leather cord as shown in the images it makes a very unique conversation starting peice of jewelry.
