Accused of being fake, witchcraft and simply impossible..
This kinetic sculpture is inspired by the unlimited freedom of 3d printing,
it wobbles and turns with a slight movement of the hand.
Now give it a good spin or puff of air and it erupts in erratic and wild behavior.

This is the 5cm / 2" version, see the Gyro the Forms section for other shapes and sizes.
Corner stand available separately, or get the complete set below!

NEW!
Now also available as a pendant/keyfob!
In both Extra small and Small

Instructions
It is composed of four concentric cubes, each one spinning around a different axis.
The model needs some minor assembly:
Each inner cube has two knobs which need to be placed into the corresponding clamps in the parent cube. It's easiest to start with the inner most and continue outward.
And then... spin it away !

Notes
Do not be alarmed if your cube will not run smoothly at first!
Because of minor variations as a result of the printing process,
some need to wear in a little but will loosen up very quickly.
In the example video I am blowing on it to make it move, it's that smooth.

Be a little careful with (the assembly of) the Alumide version as this material is slightly less flexible/robust than the Strong & Flexible materials.

Get a complete set.
A default set consists of an Alumide Gyro the Cube and a White stand, you can change the materials in your cart later. 118x87_36851_89894_1338413385.jpg + 118x87_387662_147353_1338413388.jpg

A fine network of vessels defines the surface of this crescent-shaped pendant which was inspired by how veins form in leaves. The densely interconnected structure is at once airy and strong.

It is a part of Hyphae, a collection of 3D printed artifacts constructed of rhizome-like networks. Inspired by the vein structures that carry fluids through organisms from the leaves of plants to our own circulatory systems, we created a simulation which uses physical growth principles to build sculptural, organic structures. Starting from an initial seed and a surface, we grow a hierarchical network where nodes constantly branch and merge.

Watch the video below to see the the form was created.

Please read the entire listing!

Reminiscent of Victorian filigree, this unique Designer iPhone 4 case is a durable and stylish alternative to mass produced cases on the market today. This is my newest design update! Now much more interchangeable this puzzle connection design is also more stylized and easier to put on and take off.

If you'd like each half a different color and/or design please go to my main page (www.shapeways.com/shops/cwestbrook) and order each half separately.

Designed by C Westbrook Designs in San Francisco and produced by Shapeways (based in New York and the Netherlands).

This puzzle style case will fit the iPhone 4S and all versions of the iPhone 4 (CDMA & GSM)

Click through the photos to see your color options.

The photos of the case in black highlight the unique texture of the strong and flexible material (aka laser sintered polyamide aka nylon) which in addition to adding an extra layer of interest also adds traction to keep that coveted phone in your grip!

*Please note that I'm keeping the price of this listing lower than my Etsy listings due to the case not having varnish for extra color protection. I highly recommend at least one coat of non-toxic polyurethane varnish (or something similar) so that the color can last through everyday use.*
Take a look at the video to see how to easily varnish the case yourself: http://youtu.be/eS5mp18KZrY

Multiple prints from this file have been tested on my iPhone 4, fit very well and my own case has withstood my abuse immaculately.

I designed it for easy access to all buttons, ports and controls.

The colors available are what Shapeways currently offers.

*White cases I'm offering in the polished, since it's easier to clean than the textured white. Still be aware that the white is very white, and that anything with color or dye that comes into contact with it may not be easy to remove.

*Make sure when you receive your case you note that the front puzzle pieces together and should be undone first when taking off the case.

*Only the cases I sell on my Etsy.com listings have a clear varnish added for extra protection of the color and are tried on my iPhone 4 prior to shipment. However, I'm going to only have a limited amount with limited colors each month on Etsy since dyeing and varnishing is quite time intensive.

To avoid any confusion let me clarify that if you buy a case from this store you are ordering directly from Shapeways who manufactures / 3D prints it. I can not cancel or change any orders made from this site. If you ordered a case from this listing please contact service@shapeways.com with any concerns that are unrelated to the design aspect.
