This is the original hand-crank fan. A slimmer (and less expensive) version can be seen here: Hand-Crank Fan - slim, and both models are still being tweaked a bit before they are released for sale.

This model is specifically designed for the loose tolerances of the WSF materials, and is a single print with six moving parts, although not really effective as a real fan. The entire model is printed with all of the parts in position; nothing is assembled post-production. The 1:9 gear ratio (made of two sets of gears each with a 1:3 gear ratio) makes the fan blades rotate nine times around for every single rotation of the crank. The grip of the handle rotates freely as well.

This ring is for making impressions on sealing wax in the form of a gear. This is primarily directed at the Steampunk audience, but it would also be appropriate as a gift for someone mechanically inclined. This ring has a female cavity for producing a male wax impression. Look here if you would prefer a male gear on the ring,

If desired, I could make a matched pair of the male and female gear rings that would fit together, for something like a Steampunk wedding. Such a thing would require a special order. Please send private message if interested.

Quality sealing wax can be ordered through our main website. I personally think it would look best in one of the metallic colored waxes, particularly Copper.

Caution: remove signet rings from your hand before using to make an impression. The ring will get hot. Please use caution when working with fire and hot wax to avoid burns.

In some rare instances, Shapeways stainless steel rings have caused a reaction called "tea staining." This is a (not permanent) brown mark on the skin caused by a chemical reaction with the bronze binder. So far only one customer has reported this, and research shows that it depends on skin chemistry - some people always get it, most people never do. Some solutions for people concerned with this are coating the skin contact area with clear nail polish, gold plating, or getting the ring made in silver.

This symbol is also available as a seal.

A replica saber, this is the main body part of the "RK1". It's hollow all the way through for those wanting to install electronics. The control bar is secured onto the main body by use of gluing in the optional pins. The holes are set for thread tapping to fit 8mm screws.

There's also a hole that's goes all the way through where the box slides into to assist in those wanting to install electronics. A perfect location for a switch.

|| METROTECH MACHINERY || A 1" blade plug for your custom saber. This plug features a distinctive reactor look, with various light holes for an interesting light-up effect. You could mount it all the way inside the emitter, or let it stick out a bit for that sci-fi emitter look. The neck could also be decorated with copper wire*, to finish its coil- like appeal. !FOR WINDOWED EMITTERS! If you have a windowed emitter, make sure the slots of this plug DO NOT line up with the windows. These slots were added to keep costs down, and will NOT protect your eyes from the LED. Be sure to check our other designs! http://www.shapeways.com/shops/metrotech =>|| METROTECH MACHINERY ||
