The third public evolution of the Animaris Geneticus Parvus. #7 has evolved legs, with pointy feet instead of flat. Featuring a fully working Theo Jansen mechanism as used in his work "the Rhinoceros".

The mechanism is printed assembled, and will work without further assembly right after birth from the printer.
A few tips to consider:
- After birth there might be a little powder left in some joints, or it might not go supersmooth. This will fix itself after the animal has a little bit of practice!
- Some surfaces work better than others. The legs require a little friction, and a flat surface. So for example: A rough table or floor, thin flat carpeting, or a thin rubber sheet. It will slip on a too smooth surface.
- The best way to push it is by its nameplate. Do not push down, but forward.
- The beest is light, but quite strong. It can actually be dropped without breaking. It is not a "toy" however, and not suitable for children. The 3D printer material is easy to stain so clean hands are advised.

A Sierpinski tetrahedron, the 3D version of the Sierpinski triangle, stage 5 I think. There are 4096 of the smallest tetrahedrons. The model has 499994 faces.
Update:
The edges are now almost 18 cm (7 in) long and it stands about 14.5 cm (5.7 in) high.
The model has been updated because the smallest struts were a bit too small to be printed. So it's now 1.5 times bigger in all directions.
The pictures are of the previous smaller version, the new version has been ordered successfully a number of times in WSF.
I created the model using POVray and MeshLab.

This is a truly inspiring piece, designed to use the minimum material and the largest print size while keeping the cost low. This is huge at 570mm high, it's a show stopper a head turner. Shapeways have been pushed to their limits to produce and ship this. It is fragile and care must be taken but once it is hanging from a wall with a small pin or nail. The fine 1mm wire structure comes together to create a wonderful huge majestic stag head and a wonderful balance of weight in the form while almost being invisible.

This wonderful work of sculpture by Seedling was inspired by crystal deposits known as geodes, true mineralogical wonders of nature. It looks like an alien’s gobstopper or a ‘jeweled self-dribbling basketball’ to quote the late psychonaut, Terrance McKenna. Made from 3D printed gypsum powder, the piece of psychedelic hardware will look great in any collection.

Caffeine is found in many popular beverages such as Coke, Pepsi, a variety of teas, and of course, coffee. Technically speaking, caffeine is a stimulant drug. According to a study made by Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, the average American adult 280mg of caffeine each day, which is the equivalent of 17 ounces of brewed coffee or 84 ounces of soft drink. As Americans, we depend on it so much that without that one cup of coffee in the morning can lead to severe headaches later in the day.
Stylistically, the caffeine molecule contains a pentagon shaped and a hexagon shaped amide group as well as double bonds with oxygen and methyl functional groups. This creates a feeling of alien origins and mystery, something rarely seen in everyday life.
All molecules are scientifically accurate, although some changes are necessary for aesthetics purposes.
