Replica of Wooden splinter Bird of Happiness

Bird of Happiness is the traditional North Russian wooden toy, carved in the shape of a bird. It was invented by Pomors, the inhabitants of the coasts of the White and Barents Seas. The Bird of Happiness is made without glue or other fasteners, by carving thin petals for the bird’s wings and tail and then using a special method of spreading and curving them, also found in other products of the North Russian handicraft. The amulet is usually made of pine, fir, spruce, or Siberian cedar. It is suspended inside a house, guarding the family hearth and well-being.

A new take on the mobius strip. A strip with the center section removed creates an even more complicated and interesting shape.

Can be used as a pendant, or a Christmas tree ornament, or just a neat little desk toy. I even have one mounted on my wall with a small nail.

The Resonator collection by unellenu includes the following designs

Reverb Tag Pendant, inspired by reverb patterns and geometry, with echoing and overlapping lines.

Secure Access Tag Pendant, with Guilloché patterns. Patterns similar to this are often used for security on currency and documents. I like the idea that a tag like this could be a used as a key or a code for secure access, particularly in a sci-fi setting.

Angeldevil Tag Pendant, with an abstract winged entity on one side and a downward pointing motif on the other.

Spaceship Door Tag Pendant, with a complex symmetrical pattern radiating out from the centre.

This is a spherical function 'designed' using Functy (3D graph rendering) and intended to test out full colour sandstone. The object can be described entirely using the following functions.

Radius = (0.01*((1+cos(12*(a+(p*2)))*sin(p))+(1+cos(3*a+p))))

(R, G, B) = ((1+cos(p*2))/2, 0.3, cos(12*(a+(p*2)))>0.9)

The result is surprisingly effective, and although the blades get very thin at the edges, the printer has dealt with them wonderfully. It feels brittle, but not dangerously so. The colours are also much more vivid than I was expecting. Great!

Alas, it has no practical value that I can think of. Pushing mathematical functions into reality feels like an end in itself.
