The "tertiant" is a simple astrolabe similar to the quadrant or sextant. It is useful for measuring unreachable altitudes, discovering local latitude, and finding the average of inclines.

This is the only Tertiant known to exist. The quadrant and sextant measure angles less the 90 degress. This astrolabe measures a full 120 degrees allowing the intrepid airship explorer to aim not only above, but also below.

Instructions: Look through the eyepiece, and line up your target with the sites (ie. north star for latitude, the top of a building or tree for altitude). When you do this, the dial will adjust itself by gravity to point out a degree on the guage. Zero is indicated by the vertical bar. Each second degree is marked by a small bar at the bottom of the guage, and these are grouped in ten degrees.

note: Before I release this for sale, I will be adding numbers on the guage, a ring at the top for hanging, and a ring on the end of the dial to hang a weight for more accurate readings.

A test of a slightly pressurised hinge joint for a knee or similar.

I'm hoping that the little pressure at the joint will allow for it to maintain poses and hold weight

Highly cost effective with a simple 'form follows function' philosophy

This orrery is a fully functional model of the 4 terrestrial planets: mercury, venus, earth, and mars. Ideal for planning your next interplantary voyage on your star-galleon. The planets can be moved to show their orbital placement around the sun. Each planet is sized relative to each other. The size of the sun and diameter of the orbits are not accurate, for display purposes. Working planetary models have existed in various forms since 90 BC. The orrery was given it's name in the 17th century after an Earl who ordered a clockwork copy. Now you can have your own! This piece is nearly 6 inches tall, the working sphere being 4 inches in diameter.

The N12.bracelet gives you a little piece of the N12 system.

Unfortunately Shapeways has a different process for the color now, and the bracelet is no longer available in red. There still is white and black!

The Chrysanthemum centrepiece is a reversible design that can function as either a bowl or a candle holder, depending on which side of the design faces upwards. The centrepice is lit using a LED tealight, a light source that produces no heat.

The Chrysanthemum is directly manufactured with the EOS P380 using the PA2200 polyamide material.

An new version of this design now part of the .MGX by Materialise Collection.

Model of a tricycle. This will print as 1 piece, with turnable steering, pedals, and wheels. Riding this trike is strongly discouraged. :p

Note: this best prints in White Strong and Flexible. The steering may be stuck when you first receive it. Simply rotate the steering column back and forth very gently until the powder escapes and the steering becomes loose.

SMALL METAL TELLURION PENDANT

Here is an attractive and educationally useful pendant for the scholar, astronomer, steampunk enthusiast, or the lover of the unique and celestial.

The tellurion is a model of how the earth and the moon move in space. You will see that the eath rotates freely on its axis, orbited by the moon. Orbit the whole thing around a candle or lightbulb, and you have a full feldged model of the earth, the moon and the sun.

There is some talk that if you spin the little moon on this pendant around the earth with the right conditions, that you can travel forward and back in time! ;)

ASSEMBLY REQUIRED:

A large flying monstrous creature suitable for use in most 28mm minature games. Stands about 8cm tall at the head depending on pose. Wingspan is approximately 14cm. The torso, legs, and head are partially hollowed out with 1.5mm walls to reduce printing cost and model weight (for reduced tippy-base syndrome!)

This figure has ball jointed limbs, tail, and head makeing posing or accessorizing easy. It should be compatible with most bitz used in your game of choice. Some mounting with epoxy or "green stuff" might be required for a snug fit depending on what you're attempting to mount on the models.

For crisp detail I recommend printing this one in a "detail" material, but WSF will look just fine and should be good if you're intending extensive modifications that will cover up the grain. For painting, I find that printing in Black Detail works best, as it doesn't require any basecoating that would obscure detail work. Transparent Detail provides a nice opportunity with thisone, as the wings should remain nicely translucent with a bit of inking.

If you're looking to add on to an existing figure, the wings are available seperately here: http://www.shapeways.com/model/219896/ragged_monster_wings.html?gid=ug71173
