A sewable clothing button with hollow pegs.

Note: The pegs in this design are 5mm in diameter. There is enough give in the Detail material for it to join with the inspiration piece's 4.9mm diameter sockets. Pieces produced in Stainless Steel don't have that flexibility and the resulting 0.1mm difference a bit too tight.

This base design is Creative Commons licensed. The source files can be found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1005

This little button includes special diagonal thru-holes in the pegs for sewing conductive thread. Each peg's center hole passes straight through to act as a socket for thru-hole component terminals and wires.

Use them to make more mechanically robust and electrically isolated contacts in sewable electronics.

A clover/shamrock shaped variation of my sewable disc buttons.

No mark-up until I've had a chance to print it myself (and have a cost to defray).

This redesign of my Clover Connector socket should be easier to machine-button-sew conductive thread through the socket holes.

A dozen Sewable Disc Buttons to fab at once for better pricing on "Strong and Flexible" material options' base start-up cost.

Note: I have not test-printed this. I'm waiting until I have other parts ready to get past $25 minimum.

I have printed older sewable disc button designs successfully, but be aware that the little holes will likely be clogged with unfused binder. They are easy to clean with a needle; I haven't tried flushing out the holes with water or washing them yet.

A clover/shamrock shaped variation of my sewable disc buttons.

The 12-pack is for Strong and Flexible material options only, to reduce the fixed start-up cost to a more reasonable fraction of the total cost.

No mark-up until I''ve had a chance to print it myself (and have a cost to defray).
