If M.C. Escher had owned fidget toys, he would have worn "One ring to rule the ball" as a pendant. A single, continuous line contains a small ball that makes orbit after mesmerizing orbit but cannot escape, always held down in four directions. Available in solid, durable stainless steel with optional antique bronze and gold plated finishes to fit any context, "One ring to rule the ball" now also includes a free rubber necklace so that you can confuse your mind any time the fancy strikes you! One customer echoes many others in saying, "I couldn't put it down. This thing is just too fun!"

Purchases by those gracious customers have now paid for the design time on this piece so it is available on a pay-what-you-want basis. Ordering from this page contributes 5$ towards continuing work such as the new, even more impossible "One ring to pwn the ball" (just released October 18th!) which can be found at http://www.shapeways.com/model/145172/one_ring_to_pwn_the_ball.html and the open-source "Ultimate Desk Toy" at http://www.shapeways.com/model/109166/ultimate_desk_toy.html . There are six regular convex polytopes in 4D, which are analogous to the five Platonic solids in 3D. This is the third, the hypercube or tesseract, in the classic projection into 3-space, showing its 8 cubic faces in a nice straightforward visualization.
A different projection is here.

A self-referential tessellation of the sphere.

This is a little delicate as the lines are 1.5mm thick, but it seems sturdy enough.

The BBC feature The Code, which aired in the summer and fall of 2011, culminated in a treasure hunt. This is the treasure. The original was made in bronze-finish steel and silver; this recoloured model shows the structure. It is a rendering of the five Platonic solids, nested.
An uncoloured version is here.

4c9o virus [force nano virus]

Inspired by the intricate and beautiful shapes of viruses and bacteria.
Watch HD video above or check out some highres photo's.

Materials
Succesfully printed in White Strong & Flexible.
Dyed strong & flexible could is experimental and available per request.
A polished version is unlikely to survive the process.

History
The original model was created in 2006 for a 3d photo collage.
One of the goals was to create a life-like photograph of non-existent objects.
As, at the time, I was pretty sure this was an impossible to produce object.

Then I discovered shapeways ;-)
So now it was succesfully created in real 3d!

Specifications
It is solid to not compromise the design and the price difference was marginal.
Outer diameter is 8.5cm/3.3 Inch and the tips are 0.7 mm quickly becoming wider.
Which overall makes it quite sturdy.

Please be careful with unpacking though, it may be slightly tangled in the bubble wrap.
Then again, mine already survived a 1 meter/3 foot drop, however, I do not recommend that ;-)
It should be treated as a delicate decorative object, it is NOT a toy!

Inspired by stone age weaponry, this arrow tip is an archetype charm that gives it's wearer strength and power to withstand the challenges of our everyday lifes.
Antique Bronze Matte, Stainless Steel or Gold Plated Matte are our personal favorites, as they emphasize the design with an authentic look and feel.
We recommend using a leather or rubber necklace. (Diameter of the hole is 4 mm, so any necklace of your choice should fit)
Also designed to be used as a key fob.

This is a experimental prototype for a new type of wind turbine. With 16 different rotors, and a design that channels the wind around and through it, I expect it to be more efficient and practical then current designs. I have not had it printed yet, so I don't know if the rotors spin properly, but they should work just fine. This would make a good desk toy too!

Melting is a small sculpture that us intended to look like it has been melted on the lower parts. I designed it so that you can melt wax and pour it through the top of it, creating a unique artistic effect. This would make a great decoration or gift for any artsy type of person.
